    hello,

my dd is 1 and breastfeed i was currently trying to wean her so she only has it twice in24 hrs as im thinking of going back to work ive been told to put her on cows milk but it seems to upset her tummy even if she has a small amount.now she only has the boob at just before she has lunch at 1pm and after she has a bath and its time for bed 7.30-8 she drinks a lot of water and eats alot but is that enough milk or should she be having more???at what age do they stop having milk?

We're starting to wean as well & my DD won't drink milk at the moment. I'm just making sure she has some yoghurt & cheese throughout the day until I can get some milk into her.

Once they turn 1 they actually don't need any milk (although bm is still really good for them). So there is no need to use cows' milk at all if you don't want to. What they do need is calcium. If you choose to use dairy, you can give her yoghurt or cheese instead of milk. Or you can go non-dairy if you prefer. You can use alternative milks, or even no milk at all. If you google vegan + calcium you can find lots of foods that have calcium in them.

Maybe water down her milk a little bit? If she's ok with water & milk on her breakfast maybe the milk alone is too strong for her tummy?
