Extreme Gastro, stomach cramps and nausea

    Please help.
I am 22 weeks, and have had no morning sickness at all so far.

But in the past 3 weeks or so I have had continual gastro pain in my bowels/intestines.

Its always there, mildly throughout the day, but worse when i eat, especially the first meal of the day.

Its a very very extreme gastro pain, follwed by a nausea feeling.
I try going to the toilet, but a lot of the time, cant get much out (sorry TMI)

The nasea will go away once ive successfully been to the toilet. But im still left with all day gastro cramps.

    what could this be?
Is it all to do with being pregnant. I heard someone mention Irritable bowel syndrome? could this be it?

    hi first time mummy

when i was 20 weeks i had a terrible bout of gastro - i remember distinctly because it was christmas and i couldn't eat a thing. it lasted about 2 weeks but in that time i visited my midwife to make sure everything was ok with me and bub.

i think if it's continued on this long it's probably best to go along to your GP. it could just be your body responding to pregnancy but it also might be something that you can treat.

    good luck

Definitely try drinking some more water - this will keep you hydrated (very important for the baby) and help you go to the toilet if you are having trouble getting it out

    Hope you feel better soon

my local doc and chemist reccommended mylanta. but i always thought mylanta was just for intergestion. apparently it cleans out everything through my system, and is good for wind cramps.

Ive had it twice, he said take 10 ml 4 times a day. It tastes gross,..its mint flavoured, and its like swallowing mouth wash. But if it helps, thats all i ask

Has anyone else use mylanta successfully for gas/nausea?

i had heartburn and reflux issues in the last trimester of pregnancy. i used mylanta when i was desperate (i didn't want to take any meds while pregnant). it did alleviate the heartburn but didn't get rid of it completely. worth a try though. glad it turned out to be something harmless.

    good luck
