3rd July - My Little Boy has arrived!

Oliver Ethan

Born July 3rd (due date) at 10.57am, 3hrs10mins after my first contraction (2.5hours after my last post on here!). Luckily I did not listen to the woman who answered when I called the hospital, she told me to try taking some panadol when I called 40mins or so after my first contraction!

Baby Oliver weighed 3.640kgs (8lbs), is 52cms long with a head circumfrence of 36cms.
(So much smaller than Noah, he feels tiny!)
He came out with his hand over his ear, so unfortunately, despite my best efforts at "controlled pushing", I did tear again, but nowhere near as bad as with Noah (only 2nd degree this time). I thought I took my time and pushed for about 30mins, but I just looked and apparently only pushed for 12, god knows how long it woulda taken if I hadn't tried to slow it down!

Anyway, we're all doing well, my milk's finally coming in today, thank goodness! Hopefully he'll get a good few feeds in today and be a little more settled. So far, he's fine as long as someone's holding him.
I'm doing ok, stitches are a bit sore, and having a cold doesn't help. Coughing and sneezing is agony atm!

Congratulations!! It is lucky you didnt listen to the woman on the phone - we could have seen you on the evening news "Lady gives birth on the side of the road"!
