Brand new sheep skin - Should I pre wash it?

I just bought a sheep skin for the pram, should I wash it before we use it?

Oohh....... can I ask, how will you wash it? I have one and I don't know the best way to wash it.

Umm......I didn't wash mine before we used it. Prob coz I just didn't think about it.

Yeah I would. It should have instructions with it, otherwise use a proper wool wash detergent in cold water on the gentle cycle. Just hang it up to dry, not in the dryer.

Yeah I'd wash it Bek.

I just wash mine in wool wash on the wool cycle in our front loader and then dry it on the line.
