    What was this? *TMI*

Yesterday I had a stretch & sweep done and was losing tiny bits of membranous "stuff" all 'old blood' colour. This morning in the shower I lost a big blob of something...didn't get much time to look at it as it slid down the drain pretty quickly! But it was quite long and mucousy and a dark red old blood colour...kind of like a clot I guess. Would this have been the mucous plug coming away? It was quite large and slimy... thought it might have been the bloody show but that would be bright red 'new blood' wouldn't it?

Have had a dull period-like pain all night, which was there anyway before the S&S was done, but was just a little bit more painful. Tummy has also been tightening quite a lot overnight with a couple of more painful twinges (but I don't think they were what contractions would feel like), particularly when she moves around. DF made me call the maternity ward at 3 this morning because he was worried that the period-like pain wasn't normal and 'something was wrong' midwife said it sounds like early stages of labour but I don't believe her...lol as I've been having the crampy/achiness on and off for a little while now (worse at night).

Anyway...better stop blabbing on Do you reckon it's the start of something or just wishful thinking? I know time will tell but DF & MIL are starting to get on my nerves about popping out this baby...apparently all babies on DF's side of the family always arrive early so they are worried something is wrong Told him my older brother was 2 weeks overdue and he came out fine, and it is quite normal for babies, particularly first ones, to be late. Don't think he believes me though

    Good luck hunny!!

BTW - both my oldest were over a week late...very normal Family history can't decide these things.
Go for a walk if you can. It might get thing moving a bit more for you

It sounds to me like you lost your plug . Things are definitely happening, but unfortunately there is no way to know when it will all officially start. I don't think you're far off though

FWIW, both my DH & his brother were born 1 month early, but both my boys were overdue - so your MIL's theory that something is "wrong" is very wrong LOL!

Best of luck, it won't be long now

Thanks ladies Better tell DF all the gory details when he wakes up...seeing as he claims I'm not telling him enough I'll tell him *too much* and see what he says then..lol. Told him I wasn't going to sit there all day telling him and his mum 'oh she's moving' 'oh there was a slight twinge' 'oh my stomach has just gone all tight'

Hopefully will be able to give some good news soon
