    Dyson or Electrolux

Any advice - I'm really stuck, i've decided i am going to buy a new vacuum cleaner - despite DH saying there is nothing wrong with the second hand one we have already - but with new carpet getting layed in the next 2 weeks, i want to make sure its well looked after, and kept clean for when bubby arrives....

Anyhoo - i'm tossing up between a Dyson bagless barrell and an electrolux twinclean.... does anyone have either of these to help me decide????

We have a Dyson barrel vac and we are very happy with it.

We have cats so we need to get the hair up off the carpet.
Its amazing how much stuff ends up in the barrel after each vac - almost embarrassing !
    Good luck !

I am in love with my Dyson - I regularly threaten to leave DH for it...

It's amazing and it's true what ChickyBabe said. When I bought mine I had already vac'd the day before with my old vac and what came up off our carpets made me gag!!!!

I love our dyson - got it without telling DH as I couldn't stand that my hair wouldn't get picked up with our previous machine. It took a little for DH to get used to it but now he's used to it, he does some of the vacuuming (did it yesterday while DS was sleeping and I was resting from feeding ). I got the upright smaller one (I can't quite remember the style name) as I figured I could cope with emptier it a little more often.

Can't help with any info on the electrolux as I've never used one.

I have an Electrolux Upright that i bought from The Good Guys ... they said it has a 3 year replacement warranty?

    I love it.

I brought one, an electrolux, and within 9 months it was playing up. It took me 6 months of mucking around for them to fix it, then it broke again, they fixed it again, then it BLEW UP and they replaced it. When that one broke again within the warranty period, they said it wasn't under warranty anymore. Why? Because they were going by my ORIGINAL warranty, even though this one was a brand new vaccum that I got almost 2 years AFTER the original cleaner.

So I wont buy from them again.
