My Turn... Looking at newborn baby wearing options...

    Help please!!!

With DS I had an ergo with the infant insert which worked perfectly for a June baby, but I didn't use it round the house and for feeding. I love the ergo for him as a toddler, but NEED a new carrier option...

With DS2 on the way and due in summer, and knowing I will have a toddler in the house, I want to get something else that I can use for large periods in the day, and for feeding, but that will breath with us in summer. I am quite a hot person, and get uncomfortable in the heat...

I do have a second hand chickadee baby solarveil ring sling but think I want something else too for longer periods of use.

I have looked at the ellaroo ring slings and the close carriers but an not sure, and am option to everything, but probably not a wrap, as I am unco. So hit me with your thoughts, the hits and misses...

    TIA!!

Yep, gotta say the close carrier is the one!!!

Harmony was a summer babe, January, and not a problem. Can carry her for hours on end, and she LOVES it!

I have a mei tai and a pouch sling that I made myself out of linen. I do not got anywhere without both (so I can pick at the time) and Nate has spent many hours in both at home as well as out.
Nate was born in the heat too (and it gets hot hot hot out here) and I've never had an issue with either.

I got a close carrier for #3 - its a bit too flimsy for Miss M at nearly 10kg, but will be perfect for the newborn.

I've seen Linda and some other girls use theirs and I can't wait to try it out!!

Would you be able to sell a close carrier second hand after 6 months use, as this is my last bub?

hmmm excuse my ignorance but is this a tie up wrap style??

I have a baba sling and ergo.

once DS was about 4 months old baba sling hurt my neck and couldnt use for long periods. Ergo i love but didnt like with a newborn as never looked comfy with insert, so will be looking for another carrier for same reason baby and 18 month old to run after.

I loved my Peanut Shell!!!! I had 2! A microfleece one and a cotton one for the warmer months. They come in really funky designs too!

had pouch and ergo with insert and found we needed to get a meitai wrap too, it was such a great purchase as the other ones just didnt work right for us till bub got bigger. I found it easier to put on the meitai than the pouch!
there are mei tais made from lightweight material and have clips (like the ergo) rather than tieing.

Feeb - Did you watch that BBC show Bringing up Baby, it is the one from that... Cotton wrap style, but with a buckle... Very cool. I am so close to getting one... Just wanted to get some last opinions on the subject before I finalise my decision...

I love the thought of a mei tie, but as I have the ergo I am not sure if I really can justify one..

And I have tried a pouch, but it wasn't the best for long periods for my back...

See how unsure I am here...

Yeah, I have Kitt3n on hand to try the close out, but with a belly growing, and a toddler that doesnt breastfeed, I am not sure that trying it is going to do anything to help me out. I have seen her use the close and it does look sensational...

    It is babe, it is!!!!!

Maybe wait till bub arrives, and put bubba in Kitt3ns??

My cousin came over with her newborn the other day, used mine, and bought one off me on the spot!!! She already had a couple of other types, but fell in love first use!!!

Oh, and a little OT, But i found out during a fire alarm at 1.30 am on holidays, I can put Harmony in the sling and carry a 3 yr old down 24 flights of stairs in just minutes!!!!

I dont know how I could of carried both without such a supportive great sling...... luckily a false alarm, but SO scary......
