    Toilet Etiquette

Ok, i work in a small office, main staff members being 4 girls and one guy. We have 2 toilets, one male and one female, much the same set up as your home bathroom (toilet wise not everyone has a M & F toilet at home haha). Our receptionist finds it necessary to talk to me whilst im in the toilet ... if she's looking for me she'll say my name then when i dont answer she'll knock on the door and start talking...i find it realllly uncomfortable. I dont mind at home if someone talks to me whilst im in the bathroom but at work...

Anyone else? No? Am i wierd? Lol

    LOL.

i was thinking about a similar situation at work the other day.

I was thinking "geez, it's hard to pee or poop when you somebody is in the next cubicle"

It really does takes concentration on some occasions.

I sometimes wait for the other person to leave before i can even wee!

You're not the weirdo hun. Can you tell her that you can't concentrate? Make it a joke and she might get the picture

geez... i would have said 'um excuse me, but even my kids let me pee in peace... can it wait a minute?' lol

i always been happier and relaxed when i work at a job that has a single loo/bathroom type thingy, rather than cubicles. that way i can adjust and check my haor and makeup etc without anyone walking in!

Heehee, that would definately make me uncomfortable. I hate it when DH or DS is trying to talk to me in the loo at home, let alone a workmate!

Toilet etiquette is so wierd. Sometimes in cubicles I wait for other people to leave as well, unless its a public toilet and then I figure I'm never going to see those people again anyhow so it doesn't matter! But I'm still terribly embarrassed by loo noises, even at home!

Sometimes at home DH doesn't shut the loo door (no 1's only) and it makes me so mad!!!

lol wow I only just found this thread. I can't stand people talking to me on the toilet lol Sometimes if it's just a wee im ok.. but if i am doing a number two i dont want a conversation i'd like to be able to 'take a crap' in peace hahaha But speaking of toilet ettiquite. Dp and I have been togeter for 4 years. We're not prudes (AT ALL lol) and we're really comfortable around each other. In our new place we have an ensuite. I was taking a shower last night and dp came in and sat down on the toilet with a book and started to do a crap! I was like uhhhh firstly.. now the bathroom just stinks and i dont want to be in the shower anymore ... it was just weird.. and i dont usually get weirded out by much

DH and I have been together for 13 years and we've NEVER done 'number 2's' in the same room. Both DH and I have wee'd in the same room once when there was no alternative, but the other was in the shower and had to face the wall!

That's weird - yep, tell her to go away.

We have weird things happen in our toilet at work too. There are literally 11 cubicles side by side so absolutely plenty of space for everyone. The thing that gives me the absolute irrits is that you can be the only one in there and someone else will come in and take the cubicle right next to you. I don't get it - why choose that one when there are loads of other ones free. I have felt very tempted on occasion to wait for the person to come and start interrogating them about their choice but I'm usually just too mad and don't trust myself!!!

That is really odd. Why would she want to do that??!!

Fionas- I'm with you when it comes to cubicles side by side. If others are full, fine, otherwise, there is plenty of room. Why next to me??!!
