    overweight and bub kicking

i have a question for other overweight mums /mums to be. I am over weight and pregnant with number one.I was wondering if when bub kicks a lot/stronger kicks if they will be able to be felt from the outside? like at say 6 mths or whatever when the kicks normal are felt by other ppl by touching the belly, can others feel our bubs kick if we are well insulated??
also can you see bub move?

Could see my belly move as well and DH could feel the kicks. What I found was that there was very little fat actually on my belly, especially the top half.

i'm a larger lady and DH could feel movement on the outside from 16.5weeks and we would spend hours later in the pg watching the Gremlin try to burst out of my stomach. my size had no impact on that at all!

you're more likely to have difficulty feeling things from the outside if you have an anterior (frontal) placenta as it will absorb a lot of the movements until later in the pregnancy

Even with a pre-baby belly (I was 14-16) DH felt bubs moving really early on. I think the uterus must push the tummy flab out of the way, LOL!

I'll second what a previous poster said, I've found there to be very little fat on the upper part of my belly so we can easily see it jump and bounce with baby's acrobatics... and have been able to since about 19 weeks...
    I just have a drop-tank :P (I'm a size 16-18)

I think it does! I was a 16-18 pre-baby, and now at 32 weeks my tummy is so firm and I can see and feel the baby kicking.

I couldn't tell you when I felt the first kick from the outside though. It was a while ago now.

with DD1 the placenta was on the front and she was breech so the DH never felt her kick. With DD2 the same as everyone else we would giggle at watching my belly move.
