Tonight we had dinner at my SIL's - lovely dinner, lovely company. I got up at the end of the night, and felt myself pass a clot - I didn't have my period, but I was spotting yesterday, so I had a pad on JIC. Then I feel something on my leg - I had bled so much all at once, that the pad couldn't keep up, and it just went everywhere. I even dripped on the damn floor as I rushed to her toilet! But what surprises me is, ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN I mean zero pain, not a niggle, nothing.
Obviously, I will be going to the doc about this tomorrow. But I was just wondering if anyone else has had this experience before? I have had it happen twice now - both times, there has been one HUGE clot, that looks veiny. And the blood doesn't look thick, like menstrual blood. It is bright red and slightly watery.
I had that happen to me with the first af I had after I had my mirena removed - I was literally flooding pads and I couldn't keep up with the flow because it was just like lochia for me and I was also passing loads of clots. I didn't have any pain either and it kinda freaked me out that first night when it started. It is possible that it is some retained product from your last m/c so I would definitely be going to your Dr about it and maybe even asking for an ultrasound to make sure that there is nothing left in your uterus now.
Thanks for that Trillian - I guess I thought there would be pain, or I would be feeling sick if it was something I've retained, so it wasn't really something I had considered. Thanks for the suggestion, though, I'll ask the doc about it.
I've got an appointment in just over an hour, and I'll be asking for a blood test to confirm that I was pregnant. I'm feeling quite drained today, very tired, but that could just be because I'm stressing out
You may be fine now that it's been passed - whether it was retained product or not and you may not have shown signs of infection etc either. Not sure if a pg test would show anything up now, but it would be worth it just so you know where you stood. I felt really washed out and super tired after that first af and I even started taking iron tablets again too. It was like I was totally sapped of energy, but it only lasted about 2 days and then I was right.
I've been to the doc - he's sent me for blood and urine tests tomorrow morning. It's been a while since my hormones have been checked, so he's doing that, as well as testing for pregnancy.
He did say that if I was pregnant, there's no reason to think that I'm not now, just based on the blood. Because I didn't continue to bleed at that rate, he feels that it was just blood that had been inside me for a little while, which has clotted, and then all come out at once. So he's not saying I am nor am not pregnant, but he told me not to worry about it until we get the results on Tuesday.
