Breakthrough bleeding - how long should it last?

I've had spotting for about a week now.. OB said it was fine.. but that was day one of spotting...

I'm pretty convinced that it's just breakthrough bleeding (brown, scant) and if so, how long should this last???

Bump! Sorry, I just really need some advice - I'm starting to get worried.

I don't know how long it will last. Hopefully for your piece of mind it goes away. I think if its brown its a sign of old blood which is a good thing. Bright bleeding (although not neccessary a sign of miscarriage) is more concerning as is large amounts and pain associated with the bleeding. Can you get into the Obby soon or have a scan to make sure everything is in the right place and see if there is a source of the bleeding? I know sometimes a scan picks up a subchorionic hemorrage which could indicate where the bleeding is coming from. I'd try see the Obby just for some piece of mind. Does sounds like some break through bleeding.

I am 13 weeks pregnant now. I have had light spotting on and off now since about 5-6 weeks. (I found out basically straight away I was pregnant). The spotting would last a week, take a week or 2 off and start again.

Ring you OB and tell them the bleeding is continuing. They will want to know colour and how heavy and say you are worried.

I had scans to check everything is ok. They couldn't even see a sign of bleeding on the ultrasound.

Also I am a bleeder. I have spotted with all my pregnancies. It doesn't get easier but you learn to cope.

Just make sure you are taking it easy and don't do anything too heavy until the spotting has stopped.
