I had an ob's appointment yesterday and although my bp was borderline 130/80 (which for me and my larger frame is actually what i average pre pregnancy) he said at the minute it is ok but he thinks i will need to go on meds to ensure both our health for the rest of the pregnancy... Has anyone successfully lowered their bp without the meds? i am open to most forms or therapies.
thank you for any advice you can offer.
My BP was always around 90/50 until halfway through this preg then it went up to 130/80 with traces of protien in my urine! EEK! So my OB got me to have my BP checked every second day for two weeks with strict instuctions that I was to sit down and have a cup of tea for ten minutes before the BP - ie not race into the room and have it taken straight away. A couple of the readings were still a bit high in the begining but then they calmed down. And now they are good as gold again. Without doing anything.
I think the key for me was to relax first - then have the test. Not stress about the BP test all the way in to my OB's rooms and then get tested. Maybe talk to your OB about getting this done just to see if it becomes a problem without the leadup stress of just going in every two weeks or so to the OB.
