    Fell down the stairs

    Hi all
Yesterday I was carrying DD and walking down the stairs at home when I somehow rolled my ankle and fell down about 3 steps - so clumsy at the moment! It was awful as I didn't know how to protect both DD and myself, so I ended up falling backwards and hitting my back on the edge of a step. DD was fine - just a bit shocked, and I just have a bruise on my back and a twisted ankle. I felt bub moving almost immediately after I fell, which actually worried me a bit, as I started thinking that she might be in distress or something. I have felt movement several times since then, but possibly not as much as usual (although I could just be being paranoid?!?).
So basically, I just wanted to know if anyone else has had anything like this happen to them, and was everything ok? I keep telling myself that as I hit my back and not my belly, that everything should be fine?!?
I have an appointment with my ob on Monday, so I will get him to check everything is ok then, but just can't help but feel worried in the meantime.

you should be fine (you poor thing, not fun) but I do know afew people that have had falls (all been fine) but did get checked the next day. Might be good to go to a GP today if you can, just to be safe and especially with weekend coming.. always harder to get to a Doc then xo

I had a fall when preg (in fact overdue) with DD1 10 years ago...managed not to fall on my tum and ended up with grazed knees and hands (happened outside)......went into labour that night and everything was fine with her...a very healthy and unstressed bubs...not trying to frighten you by saying you might go into labour, lol!! As I said I was overdue anyways, but the upshot was she was fine

But if you have any doubts go and see your doc....hope all is well

Ouch, I hope you are feeling better. If you are still having movements & no bleeding all should be fine. I'm not as far along as you but fell down 3steps a couple days ago. Was able to land on my side & just get a heap of gravel rash! Went to docs today for usual check up & all is great.

OUCH! You poor thing! I would only be concerned if you'd fallen forward or knocked your stomach and even then, our little bubbas are so well protected in there. I'm sure bubs is absolutely fine.

I fell on directly on my stomach at about 18 weeks and although I got checked out by my OB, even he said it would be very difficult to hurt bubs as they're so well protected. I actually hurt myself quite a bit but bubs was happy as larry, completely unaware of what a clutz I'd been.

    Hope you're feeling better soon!
