IntelliGender® Homepage - IntelliGender?
Hi lilbooties,
I Havn't looked at the website recently but I was tossing up wether to try it or not when I was 1st preg. But for $100 a pop wasn't prepaired to spend the $ on something they refused to prove it worked kwim?
At the time they claimed it reacted to a hormone produced by a mother carring a female baby turning it pink, or blue if the hormone wasn't present meaning either the baby is a boy or the mother wasn't actually pregnant.
My decider was watching one of the morning shows and they spoke to professionals about it. They said there is NO HORMONE that is ONLY present when you are pregnant with a female.
The owners of this product a)refuse to have it tested, b) refuse to reveal the name of the hormone (never before been discovered????) c) refuse to have it tested with pregn women to see if it accurately determines the correct sex of unborn babies.
They claim they are so secret because they don't have it paitened (sp?) yet. Now, I don't know what their reasons for that are but I know for sure without a doubt, 1) if you have a manufacterer, (which they do,) the manufacterer gets the product paitened, 2) If you have such a fantastic product, why would you EVER risk not having this done? 3) having a product paitened is not hard!
TBH, They really only have a 50/50 rate of it being male or female, it's not hard to get it right! (or wrong) but if wrong, then Iguess that mother got one of the 1% (or whatever) dodgy ones that fails to be accurate. And what if it turned out to be twins with 1 of each? will it turn purple? I'm not convinced it works.
Maybe for a bit of fun but I wouldn't rush out to buy for any particular sex based on it.
My SIL, went out and bought pink, for her son! (good for me now though!)
If you do try it, please let us know if it worked! But seriously, the first half goes ALOT quicker then you first think it will go, so if your going to spend $100 ea on you and your friend, I'd suggest you put the $200 towards something better, maybe ond of those 4D non-diagnostic scans?? you can get early scans for that too for less than $100 for sex determination and you get the picture of proof!
Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy, I hope all goes well!
It is much more reliable to just wait until your 20 week scan. These tests are no where near as reliable as what they claim - just google it and you will get lots of bad feedback.
My advice - save yourself the $100, find out at your scan if you want to know the sex and put the $100 towards something fun and cute for bubs!![]()
From my understanding, it is not very accurate at all.
It reminds me of the old wives tale gender prediction of adding your urine to drain-o and determining the gender from the colour the drain-o goes. I guess this would probably be as accurate as the intelligender and definitely cheaper! lol
My friend got one. It said boy and she is having a girl. Waste of money.
