Question Capsule - Car to pram?

We have a second car seat already, but I would really like this time to use a capsule that will go form the car to the pram (we need to get a new pram aswell)

So I am wondering how uch they are?
And looking for recomendations, tips, pitfalls etc...?

I wouldn't mind one of the old-style capsule, but they dont go into a pram base do they?

    TIA!

I have no idea about the prams, but just wanted to say congrats on the TTC! I didn't realise you were going to try for another baby.

My friend swears by it because she's an out and about person. Can move baby without disturbing him from car to pram down the shops. Pretty pricey from what she said though, over $1000 for the car seat, pram frame and bassinet.

i borrowed a capsule which was fantastic and much easier to manage with a toddler in tow too, i did get heavy and i stopped using it at 5 months, i have to say, i was hoping DD would stay asleep and transfer from car etc.. she woke every single time! i didnt use it with a pram as i prefer that she didnt stay in it for long periods (had the normal capsule that didnt do that)

I brought the safensound unity and profile pram for my third bub, even though I had a reversiable care seat. I absolute love it. was the best thing, as my bub is not very big at 14 months she is still in it and if she is asleep i can just snap it onto the pram and not disturbe her.

My cost in total around the $600 mark for both the pram and car capsule.

I just saw one of these pram/capsule systems on the Kerrie Ann show this morning. They didn't say the prices, but they were made by Chicco. Maybe google Chicco for more info.

Safe n Sound do a travel system. I have the unity capsule which is awesome! I can have DD2 fall asleep in the car and then just carry her inside. She also falls asleep in the capsule when we are out and I can carry her sleeping back into the car for the trip home.

I had a similar one for DD1 and she was in the capsule until 12 months as they are rated to 12kg from memory. DD2 will probably be in hers until then too as I am in no rush to turn her.

Also the resale value on eBay for the travel systems with the unity capsules are pretty good so even if you do spend a bit you can sell it further down the track.

    They aren't all expensive.

I have a fisher price one from Target. They have changed the branding and it is now hipod or something like that. I think it was about $300 for the capsule and maybe $180 for the stroller. Although they have them on sale regularly and I think I got both for about $400.

Target also sell a steelcraft one. I think it is steelcraft cruiser. Like the strider, but not as expensive. I think that one was a bit more expensive.

I found it such an excellent system. Especially after a friend told me about walking around the shopping centre for an hour because her baby was asleep in the pram. I could easily move bub from car to stroller to home.

the steelcraft profile stroller is normally about $250 - $300 at most baby stores and they are designed for the capsule. Target often has the capsule on sale from $300 down to $200 or cheaper.

If this wasn't my last one, I would buy the stroller cause I already have a similar one that Ilove as a 2nd pram.

These are great Alexis. Because DD was so little she swam in her regular car seat so we bought a capsule. We bought the BabyLove Snap N' Go. It was $90 I believe. We bought the Stroller to go with it as well a bit later (I think it was only about $200) both from Bub Hub. The capsule goes up to 9kg so she is almost out of it now but it was so worth it and we use the stroller a lot especially in our car with the smaller boot even without the capsule. If you are after a cost effective system and have another pram or car seat from your DD this is good.

We have a big walking pram as well but I am so glad we bought this system as well (It was also cheaper than the Strider System, Steelcraft ones etc as the prams are dearer but a friend has one and it is great too but a much pricier system. I loved how fantastic it was to carry a capsule in with you, or click it into the pram and go without disturbing bub.

We are def getting a capsule for when we have #3, and as I am a google junkie I was very excited when I found out there is now an attachement for the P&T pram so you can clip a capsule into it. So we are definatley going to go down this path, as by the time we have #3 DD will be at school, so bubs will need to be portable.

Maclaren have a new stroller to use with the Safe n Sound Unity capsule - it is a wider stroller, one hand recline and looked pretty good. Was ~$750 all up though. I think the stroller is a techno XTG (maybe diff letters)! Happy shopping!!!!

    Hi everyone.

I got the Fisher Price capsule from Target (it was on special) for $199 I think. I wasnt going to get the stroller, but later changed my mind. When I went back, they didnt have them anymore, so I went to our local baby shop, and brought a Steelcraft stroller. I paid $200 for it, and its called the 'Eden'. I loved the system at the start, but Logan is now 3months old, and has already grown out of the capsule as he is fairly tall. I also found as he got heavier he was harder to lift into the car, but that may be because we have a 4wd.
I found it was handy for kinder runs and ducking into shops when I didnt want to disturb him.

Big W have started selling them too, I think theirs also go up to 12Kg, not to expensive of a system but not esactly 4WD.

I'm a fan of the Phil & Ted's also, but can you use the toddler seat at the same time? I cant seem to work this out, also only one of the capsules are avaliable in OZ that's the peg perego viaggio, and thats close to $500 for the capsual alone. If you can use the toddler seat at the same time we will most probably be getting this.

Another expensive but versatile system is the Baby Jogger City Elite, If it was my first kid I would have gotten this if it was out, when I say expensive I mean it, firstly the pram Cost around $900, and you must buy every thing (including the grab rail) as an extra and with what I consider essential it would cost around $1300.00, but it fits a few of the most common Capsule's (although they are reluctant to tell you which ones specifically).

Over the next few months (if you can wait) there will be a lot of new systems comming out, apparently the Strider Plus will be released soon, and that is a fit everything system. And Valco have also released a new runabout system recently too (but be aware, Valco doesnt fit down many shopping checkouts).

In our case it is worth getting the more expensive system as we dog walk, and we use the pram a lot.

If anyone knows of any that fit the toddler seat and the capsule at the same time please put it here, I need to know!
