    heavy breathing 15mo

Any help appreciated, my fifteen month old son is making funny breathing noises and we can't work out if it is just making noise for the fun of it or if it's something we should get checked out.

He breathes heavily in then out making sort of light squealing/wheezing noises for a few breathes then stops..... then it wont happen for a while.

He's not doing it at night only during the day while playing etc...

    Any thoughts?

No pearls of wisdom from here, but maybe just see if it continues for a couple of days after playing and if it continues get it checked out. It could be Athsma? Sorry....Wish I could help more!

Not too long ago I asked the dr about my almost 15 month old doing a similar thing. He said its hard to tell whether its asthma or not unless you can actually listen while its happening and see if there is any wheezing. He also said to notice if it happens particularly when exerting himself, or if there is any other pattern. In the absence of any wheezing or anything, we concluded with my DS it was just a noise he likes to make. FWIW, he doesnt make it anymore, the phase seems to have passed!

I too would get it checked out after a few days if you are still concerned.
