Oooooops, I went to a bakery with the kids for lunch and ate not one but two sausage rolls, totally forgetting that I probably shouldn't be eating them while pregnant.
I'm only early on - is this bad? Do I need to worry?
I should imagine it would be fine to eat a sausage roll... if not then burgers/pies/all takeaway food should be forbidden. Main thing is that it was nice and hot when you ate it.
I think its more processed meats like devon & chicken roll you need to steer clear of. Also soft serve ice creams, sushi aren't good & make sure all meat is well cooked (no blue steak!).
I think seafood is fine as long as its cooked.
Ahhhh, it wasn't piping hot, just warm, which is what I was worried about I suppose. Kept warm in one of those sausage roll/pie warmers. THe shop was pretty popular though, so don't think it would have been sitting around for too long.
Bakeries usually sell food that was made that day/morning so the sausage rolls would have been in a hot oven fairly recently. I wouldn't fret too much about it
Thanks all, I feel much better now. Think I pigged out a bit much though, was feeling a bit sick after it. Grub17- Yep did enjoy it at the time, along with a doughnut. I need to be careful not to start stacking on the weight. It's just that I'm feeling queezy heaps at the moment and the though of salad sandwiches doesn't really appeal.
