    Massage/chiropractics in the first trimester?

    Hi all

Just wondering whether anyone knows if there is any type of massage that is safe during the first trimester, and whether I can go to the chiropractor?

I have a really, really bad neck (its been bad for ages and I kept putting off getting it sorted and then fell pregnant!). Its starting to give me headaches and I'm trying to figure out exactly what I can and can't do about it!

Any ideas and info much appreciated! Thanks

Hi Yarrawin, long as you've got a good chiro and you let them know you're pg it's no problem.
I have fortnightly visits to my chiro, chiropractic care can be a great help through out pregnancy, if everything is kept in alignment you can even have shorter labour times and will definitely help you if you're having pain with your neck now I'd get it sorted early and maintain the visits then to keep everything good.
My chiro has special cushions to accommodate my growing bump so laying on the bed is no drama either.

Congratulations on your pg and good luck with the massage and chiro

I saw my chiro fortnightly throughout my entire last pregnancy. Not a problem at all (in fact, it was great!)

Some 'GOOD' Massage places or day spas have maternity massage, they use a special chair and know which pressure points etc to avoid.
I had one a couple of months ago and it was HEAVEN! it's more a relaxation thing but if you can go every month or so i'm sure it works wonders

Am planning another visit soon.. YAY
