    Baby shower in a park?

    Hi all,

I'm thinking of finding a park with a pavillion for my baby shower, but wanted to get some advice first. Given my MIL and my mum live at either ends of the Melbourne metro area, with most of my friends living around me and my apartment being too small, I think this a good compromise.

However I wanted to put it out there to see if there is a very good reason I can't think about as to why this is a dumb idea?

    Thoughts would be appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Fiona

Sounds like a great idea to me (not that i have any experience with baby showers lol) As long as you check the weather id say it sounds fantastic, especially if other kids are going and theres play stuff? Good luck!

I think its a GREAT idea - but than again thats what we did - i had a baby shower with my husband - he was very much looking forward to bubs arrival as much as i was so i thought it was fair if he be part of it too- which he loved - so he invited all his friends - in the end there was heaps of ppl so we had it in a park, and put on a sausage sizzle and nibbles and drinks for everyone - it was a fantastic day!

Having been to several baby showers and been given my own, a park would do just fine!

Jells Park is in Wheelers Hill (good access from Eastlink) and has good undercover areas.

Thanks for this (and all your suggestions!). Park it is then.

I remember lots of picnics at Jells Park as a kid. Good times.

I'm in the inner west now, so am looking up similar facilities on my side of town. Hopefully will find something along the Maribyrnong River!

    Thanks all!
