Question what do baby understadn shape, number and object??

I want to know when will baby understand about the shape? when should I show them different shapes? ... can they understand number when they are 7 or 8 months? can they recogize different object such as aeoplane, car in 10 to 11 months?? And where can I find such information that I can give them the right material for their learning??

I'm not sure exactly what age babies can comprehend all those things, but I do know that the sooner you start talking about things and showing them things the sooner they will learn!
Babies are like little sponges, so the best thing you can do is just talk to them about everything - explain what youre doing ("Im washing the round plate!" "Look, its the blue ball" "I have three biscuits" etc) you dont need fancy learning tools

I am not sure on exact ages etc but DD is just over 11mths and she knows if we say puppy or dogs to look for our dogs, if we ask where are the fish she points at our fish tank and sits infront of it and says ISH ISH.

She has just started playing with the shapes ball and putting the shapes in (with my help) and i try saying SQUARE or CiRCLE etc as she puts them in.. her favourite seems to be a star, can't wait until she can start talking and telling me which is which.. i try colors too especially with the wiggles...

They won't understand the concept behind numbers at this age, but if you sing simple songs with them that include numbers - (1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive eg), they will get to know that counting involves numbers, etc.
Be sure not too expect too much and let it develop naturally.

    Yeah that (points up).

My mum always comments on a friends DD who is so very smart. Her mum is a school teacher & she talks to her constantly, tells her what she is doing & why etc. I try to do this with DS all of the time, when walking with him in the pram, driving the car & I use things he has an interest in to teach him stuff also. Like most days I ask him what number or colour is Thomas or Percy etc. They will all pick it up in their own time but never too young to start.
