A friend of mine used cookie/play-doh cutters and cut polony into shapes, the kids thought it was great eating polony stars. Could work with a few things?

You could do fruit kebabs? They usually go down a treat.

Pikelets - can add banana or grated zuchini to the mix to make them healthier or use wholegrain flour.
Popcorn - unbuttered, altho may be a bit small for 2 year olds.
Quiches - with spinach and corn, or bacon and cheese - a little bit "rich/fattening" but still better then a lot of other things.
Hommus - with carrots, crackers etc to dip into
Banana muffins - with choc chips if you feel like jazzing them up a bit

I was going to say fruit kebabs too!
My DD was at a spring fair last wkend and she preferred a strawberry kebab to a bag of lollies!

    found these ideas

    Watermelon paddle pops

Cut a ripe watermelon into 2cm slices then cut rectangles and place a paddle pop stick in one end. Freeze until ready to serve.

    Boats

Cut celery sticks into 5cm lengths and taper each end with a sharp knife. Fill with low-fat cottage cheese and place a small candle or flag in the centre of each.

    Animals and other shapes

Use biscuit cutters to cut out shapes from slices of peeled carrot, watermelon and cucumber.

    Muesli bars
    Makes approx.16 bars

    Ingredients
    3/4 cup rolled oats
    1 cup muesli*
    1 cup sultanas
1 cup chopped dried apricots (or dried fruit medley)
3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
    1/2 cup pitted prunes
    1/2 cup dates
    1/4 cup shredded coconut
    1/4 cup LSA
    1/4 cup sunflower seeds
    3 tablespoons honey
    Natural yoghurt
*Use a natural muesli that is nut and sugar free.

    Method
In a medium saucepan, combine sultanas, apricots, honey and orange juice. Bring to the boil, stir for one minute, cover with lid and turn off heat.
When cool, combine with remaining ingredients except for yoghurt. Press mixture into an oiled cake tin or mini muffin tins can create cute round bars for variety. Press down well with hands to compact mixture.
Spoon small dollops of yoghurt onto each bar.
Cook in oven 160 degrees for 5 mins. Then refrigerate for 24 hours before serving
Can be kept in the fridge. can freeze individually.

I do fizzy juice instead of soft drink - just add Mineral Water.

with fruit kebabs use paddle pop sticks less chance of them getting hurt

and a fun refreshing drink that isn't to bad for them but with some fizz is this

    raspberry fizz

    300g pkt frozen raspberries
    2 cups (440g) caster sugar
    1/4 cup (60ml) lemon juice
    1 litre soda water, chilled
    Method
Place raspberries, sugar and 2 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Simmer for 10 minutes then remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Cool then strain through a fine sieve into a jug, without pressing on solids. Discard solids.
To serve, pour raspberry fizz into a large jug. Add ice cubes and top up with chilled soda water.

we had DS1 party last weekend - here's what i made:

Fruit platter - i cut up fruit into big chunks. i like the fruit kebab but didnt do it for a few reasons - we have some younger kids there that would not have dealt well with the sticks and also if any kids are allergic or dont like certain fruits they wont eat any of it. My DS is allergic to strawberries so i prob think about this more...
Pizzas - i made these myself so they were healthy. Made the dough and topped with tom paste, loads of chopped vegies (mushrooms, capsicum, grated zucchini), pineapple, tuna on some and cheese - these went down REALLY well with the kids and the parents
Spinach and cheese traingles - you can buy but i made (healthier) - with cottage cheese, ricotta and spinach. also did some with mushrooms instead of spinach
Home made potato wedges - did half sweet pot and half normal
Home made fish goujons - also went down really well (could also do homemade nuggets)

I also had gingerbread cookies (homemade) - we did animal shapes as it was farm theme but any shape will do and the kids loved this, a cake (made a butrercake and flavoured with vanilla)

For drinks I did juice and water only (poppers were a treat for the kids) and tea and coffee for the adults.
