I am nearly 38 weeks with my second child. Anyway, just wondering if it is normal for my bub to still be very active. It has been the whole pregnancy but probably even more so the last few weeks. I have noticed also that between the hours of 11am and 2pm, the baby is the most active. My stomach does waves and I see hands and feet sticking out everywhere. I am also getting sharp pains down low on and off from the bub pressing down. I think he/she is ready to come out (I know I am too!).
Is it true that babies movements slow down leading up to birth or is this just a myth???
Thanks for any replies.

hey there, my son was exactly the same, he was craziest at night and used to keep me up with very hard kicks and punches. He only settled down in the few days before I gave birth to him which was at 40w2d. he was still fairly active, but his movements were quite slow IYKWIM?
I also got sharp pains down below for a few weeks leading up to the birth which was just him moving down and getting ready.
But yes, its said they do settle down before birth
Sorry if I havent been much help!
Wishing you a wonderful labour!
My DS never slowed down, LOL. He was extremely active right up till and even DURING labour!! In between contractions and during rests while pushing he was STILL kicking me!! The midwives were amazed, LOL.
He is now 17 months old...and he doesn't walk...he RUNS! He doesn't stand still or sit still...he stands there JUMPING! LOL
Yep Bella was the same - she really ramped up her movements the latter it got - I went to 42 weeks and she was really active and you could see it all the time!!
DD was still very active through most of my labour and didn't slow down until I had about a hr or two to go. I thought the same thing, and was so disheartened when she just wouldn't slow down, but labour came, even with her still wriggling about!
i went 8 days overdue and DD was active until the day she came....she completely slowed down and was worried and went to hossy and they said ur in labour ( was early stages but did have her within 12 hrs of them saying that) so ther u go
Yep - what Alan said. My DD was 11 days overdue, as she was being born my belly was shaking like I was in an earthquake cause she was kicking her legs so much!
