Hello, so my ds2 has gorgeous long thick hair which is just forming into little ringlets. he was born with lots of hair and seems to really suit his features iykwim? i really really don't want to have to cut it, but i must admit that i think it is becoming a bit of a problem. his hair seems to be at that awkward 'in-between' stage where it is not long enough to tuck behind his ears but is constantly falling all over his face and in his eyes. at the moment he has a bit of a cold and it seems to be annoying him a bit....ahhh, what to do? what to do???? now today, because i am at home, i have actually put a pretty little clip with a blue bow on it in his fringe and it is working wonders....but i can't do this in public. does anyone have any suggestions? does anyone know of any hair accessories for boys? are there headbands or something like that for boys???

i know the stage - ride it out if you dont want to cut his hair, it wont last long...
i know some ppl will use a plain clip in a boys hair... or a hair tie and take some of it off his face...
of course these options wont help with the references to your 'gorgeous girl' but they will keep the hair off his face...
I would just get a fringe cut in so it is away from his face. DS had the same thing and I loved it but he told me it was in his eyes. So we went and got it cut and I still mourn it. LOL. I would just cut a fringe in next time as I like shaggy kind of hair in boys.
G, his hair is gorgeous! I thought you were going to say that people were telling you to cut it, and I was going to say NO! But, if you think it's getting in the way, then just go and get the front chopped a bit. You don't need to give him a full haircut (unless you want to), but a good hairdresser should be able to just tidy up the front so it's not in his eyes . It must be hard, most babies don't have such a thick head of long hair at his age, so it's not like he can flick it off himself. But what a lucky boy!!!
Yeah I'd try for a fringe too, but keep in mind that you'll have to keep trimming it. So if you think it won't be long before it's long enough to fall to the sides maybe you could wait it out - or you could trim it for now and let it grow out when he's a bit older?
In public, at least during the day - what about a hat to keep it off his face (that's if he'll keep a hat on).
Or is there a baby friendly kind of hair gel you could use to slick it back a little?
My DS is also getting a bit of length to his hair now too, and I'm also hesitant to cut it as its also just starting to form cute little ringlets at the back (which almost everyone is starting to comment on now too how cute the ringlets are)...so I understand your situation.
I hope you find something that works (besides cutting).
i think you should just take the bows off the girly headbands or you could cut a fringe like froddo baggins LOL. my husband has froddo hair and my 7 month old is heading that way, so it's good to know some suggestions. i'm more into the shaggy hair, my nephew had gorgeous blond ringlets at the back and the next time i see him he's got the short back and sides look, i'm mourning his hair and feel sorry for the litle bugger LOL
thanks guys, i'm thinking i just leave it and use clips/headbands at home and just deal with it when we're in public. i really don't wnat to cut it as i'm thinking this is just an annoying stage and that it will get better when it's got a bit more length/weight in it. i guess i'll just see if i can put up with it until the end of the year and then maybe cut it next year if need be.
