WAAAY TMI but i need to know.....

I'm apologising in advance....this is WAAAYY TMI

During this last week i've had THE MOST itchiest vagina...it's so itchy its getting painful. My dr tested for STI's (even though I know that DH and I have never slept with anyone but each other - DHs concious wouldn't let him, so nothing to worry about there) and surprise, surprise....nothing.
I need to go to the toilet like every 2 secs (more that normal when i'm pg)...and there is nothing....i thought maybe pelvic floor....and i've been working so hard to make sure i do the exercises. It stings when i go too.

I've been putting bepathan on there trying to ease some of the itchiness. Theres no discharge that i've noticed.

Has anyone had anything similar or is this in my head or lucky me....are these just normal pg symptoms?????

he seems to think its just me being very sensitive as i've had extremely itchy skin all over... at least on the rest of my body i can scratch (yes i know a bad thing anyway LOL) but i can't walk around scratching down there

I've had this before (non-pg) and it turned out to be a UTI. My urethra was so inflamed that it was making my whole vulva burn and itch. I went on for months because i felt it was my vagina that itched and the inflaed vagina which burned when i pee'd s the regular GP never bothered testing my wee. Eventually i went to an actual STI clinic which re-tested me for all the STI's AND tested my waterworks too. I had my urine tested for bacteria and a urethral swab done (youch!) and it was i think e.coli, which lives in the bowels and can fairly easily get to the urethral/ vagina area (in my case i was careless wiping when drunk! ). Back to the docs!

doctors are so in love with testing wee while pregnant (mine does on EVERY visit which i find so annoying) - i would be amazed that on hearing of burning when weeing symptoms the doctor didn't immediately test your wee for a uti (which is really common in pregnancy apparently)??

my money is on thrush or uti - definitely have your wee tested!!

My doc has recommended to me that all women should have a tube of anti-fungal and a tube of steroid cream in their cupboards and if one doesn't work use the other. I had your symptoms, used thrush cream, no relief, used DermAid and bingo - so I probably had dermatitis or some sensitivity to new loo roll or washing powder etc.

REALLY hope it is fixed for you soon!!!

Ouchies! Sounds like thrush - I used to get the WORST thrush when I was a teenager / early 20s... I don't know why? Was almost always there, with bad flareups often. I feel your pain, it is the worst.

Are you having lots of good bacteria? Go back to the doctor, but in the meantime, lots of Yakult!

I was going to say UTI too. possibly thrush too. Or maybe you are a bit sensitive down there, maybe look into wearing cotton undies only, if you dont already?

If it's not Thrush it could be the toilet paper you use. I can't use patterned or scented TP because they irritate me.

I got thrush both pregnancies. The first time I battled thru, the second time I used Canestan (internal cream) in the first trimester. Cleared it up straight away and it never came back. Thrush is really common during pregnancy.
