Moving older baby into cot (from hammock).

Any suggestions about how to get DS into a cot with ease and lack of trauma to him??

He sleeps in an Amby hammock and in a few months will be needing to move out of it as he will be 12months old (maximum recommended age). He is used to bouncing himself to sleep or being bounced if he wakes during sleep cycle, so Im unsure how well he is going to handle the move.

DD didn't have a hammock. But I would suggest introducing a sleepy time blankie/comforter into his hammock so that he gets used to having something else with sleep cycles and then moving him for his easiest day nap first.
Or, could you rock him in the hammock till he's almost asleep and then move him to his cot a few times till he's more and more awake each time?

I transitioned my dd at 8 months when she rolled over in it, I actually rang the company and he said that if they are not climbing out and not to heavy for it they can stay in it till around 2.

When I transitioned dd to a cot, i had to rock her till nearly asleep the first time but after that she settled herself in about 10 min, winging but not crying. Within 2 days she had transitioned with out anymore help. Now she self settles in it with out a problem.
