    Baby ProBiotics?

I just sent DP to the health food store for some probiotics for Oliver. I'm hoping they'll help with his wind pain (especially after last night's 12hour scream fest). He's been on antibiotics for an ear infection, so I figure they can't hurt. Unfortunately, DP didn't think to ask how the heck I'm supposed to administer them! He's 3months old EBF and doesn't like taking a bottle.... He got the Baby Biotics brand. Do you think I should mix it with breastmilk and syringe it into him or...?

breast milk , water or juice in a syringe will be fine , it wont matter if its jusice just to get it down him , maybe dilute the juice and add the powder to it .

my DD was under 6 mths and i just gave it to her in juice as water wasnt intersting enough for her to swallow it kwim ?

He's only 3 months old so I would stay away from the juice. I'd drop it in some breastmilk and then syringe it in.

Thanks ladies. I just mixed it with some breastmilk and he took it happily. Evidently it tastes a lot better than Zantac!

Lotus, sorry to hijack a bit here, but did you need a script for them? I asked at my health food store today and they said I needed a script from a naturopath...

Nope, I just sent DP in to ask for Baby ProBiotics and that's what he came out with. I thought you needed a script for that particular brand too though? I'd looked it up online and it said it was "Practioner Only".
Just checked and it says "Practitioner Only" on the bottle too.....

Thanks SS! I hope he feels better too, he was clearly in pain last night poor thing. Hope Hayley's feeling better and lets you get some sleep too!

Lori, I have never needed a prescription for them, chemist (big one) has them in fridge with grown up ones, if you are using them on little bubba, get the same ones that OP, hopefully she will give you brand name (something ceuticals - I think, blue label, 30 bucks or so) the inner health ones are for 6mth + and have diff bacteria. I've had DS on probioitics since birth (he's been on antibiotics since 7 weeks) and I was told to put it on my nipple and he'd feed and get it that way. He always used to scrunch his face up, but he only needed a tiny amount, so it was perfect.
The one I use (recommended by my kenisiologist ) is called Life start and is avail at some health food shops. I just put a small amount on a teaspoon then dipped my nipple in it and that's the amount he had from 7 weeks. I now put 1/4 teaspoon in his food now that he's 7 months. I also use the same one for my DD who is almost 4. xo
