Teaching your toddler to blow their nose

    Hi All,

DD has a really blocked runny nose. She doesnt let me use the suction thingy on it so I am constantly wiping it.

When should they know how to blow their nose and how to teach them to do so? I have tired to let her watch me do it but instead of blowing her nose she just makes the sound of blowing it through her mouth =(

Feel sorry for DD as she cant sleep at night because of this too. DD is 18mths.

    Thanks!

Kayla has been blowing her nose for a long time.. can't remember how I showed her tho LOL. I think I sniffed into my nose and then out again, so she got it that it was her nose we were using.

I have been blowing my nose so much lately that DD#2 (almost 1) can blow her nose! Whenever she sees a tissue she picks it up and and blows her nose

I know that doesn't really help you - maybe just keep showing her? Hope she gets better soon.

I'm having a similar problem here - the family day care lady taught my DD1 how to and now I've got no idea how to show DD2. Problem is it's been her birthday recently so she has well and truly mastered the blowing-out-candles thing...tissue skills are a different thing altogether!
