This might be a stupid question but i'm sure you lovely ladies can help me out!
We had DD's b'day on the w/end and my cousin bought a pressie for ME.. thats right i actually got spoilt.. YAY, her friend makes Ring Slings so my cous got me one for the bub2b.
She showed some of the girls how to use it but as i was running round like a freak missed out on the tutorial.. hehe
Can anyone direct me to somewhere with pics or even some basic instructions? Can it be used for older children etc?
Do a google search for "baby wearing downunder" or "oz baby wearing" and there's a yahoo group which talks about nothing else! They have all the hints, photos and a forum to discuss your problems.
But for an older kid, the ring should be on the front of your shoulder (dominant side) with the material from the back spread out to distribute the weight - I usually put it over the shoulder a bit.
The kid gets put in from the bottom. Make sure the lower bit of the sling is tight to carry their weight and pull in the top to keep the kid tight.
Ohhh thanks so much Kazbah, i knew you lovely ladies would have tips for me.
I have a baby carrier from my stepmum but it's one of the harness ones, with a million straps etc.
I can't believe my cousin thought to get me one, we haven't always gotten along and it was quite a shock. It's very pretty and her friend is very talented!
I have found that you only have to wear it a few times and it seems to 'remember' where your and your child fit together. That is until you wash it I love my ring sling, yey for a present for you!
