Okay, I was just wondering if any other mums (particularly of girls) have been here and can give me some advice.
For the past couple of months, DD1 has been *very* stinky down there. She's almost completely toilet-trained now and I thought maybe teaching her better hygiene would help clear it up, but nope - despite wiping herself properly when she uses the toilet, washing her thoroughly in the shower etc, there are days where she just REEKS. Some days it smells like poo, but mainly it's a musty sort of odour coming from her vulva. It even stinks right after she's had a shower and I've made sure to wash her properly and thoroughly.
During the day she runs around naked, and she sleeps with a nappy at night.
I did take her to the doctor's a fair while ago to ask about it (and luckily the day of the appt happened to be a day that DD1 was running around smelling like she had a very dirty nappy, but it was clean and dry), and the GP just wrinkled her nose and said, 'She must have fluffed'. Uh, yeah, or not, seeing as fluff smell usually disappears after a few seconds and DD1 stinks for days at a time.
I wonder if it could be thrush or something similar to that? And if so, what do I use to treat it? I've got a doctor's appt for DD2 tomorrow (with our new GP as our old one has pretty much lost my vote after a fair few little 'incidents' like the one mentioned above) so if she isn't too busy I will ask her what she thinks, but in the meantime I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem, and what was causing it.
Thanks in advance
Been having this issue with Charlotte lately too...
I find that if she bathes with commercial washes/soaps t is worse, so have been using either Rosemary oil or Eco Store bath wash and it is better, but still noticeable.
So subbing for help too!
She also seems to have her hands in it lol but like CONSTANTLY if she has he nappy off...
we have similar issues as well, though not that bad she still sometimes has an odour, we dont wash with soaps etc.. not sure why it happens hope to get some answers as well
^ Oh yeah... fingers, foreign objects... :/ Mum wondered out loud a few days ago if she was poking around down there because she was itchy. That kind of made sense, although I remember doing a fair bit of 'exploring' out of pure curiosity at that age, so I don't know whether it's just a toddler thing or if she's having a bit of discomfort.
