    'Fully engaged' at 24 weeks?

The OB told me at Tuesday's appointment that little Scooby's head is 'fully engaged' - at 24 weeks!! He said it will probably come up again. I'm feeling heaps of pressure 'down low' and some occasional pains in the vagina and rectum area.

Has anybody else had an early engagement? What did it mean for you?

    Hi There,

DD was fully engaged at 25+6 weeks and i thought she was going to come early but she came 2 weeks after her due date. As bub's head most likely will move up from all the movements.
Good Luck and i hope your little doesnt decide to come early.

My second bub was mostly engaged from about 20 weeks. He only was a few days before his EDD I think.

The bright side is, bub might leave your ribs alone - my first didn't engage til late and my ribs were so so sore.

Hi I thought I'd update this thread I started in case somebody stumbles across it in the future and wants to know more!

So my bub was fully engaged from 24 weeks to 31 weeks... then he turned breech from 31-35 weeks... then head down at 35 weeks via a few days lying transverse... then fully engaged again... then unengaged at 37 weeks and floating very high... then engaged again. Now at 39+4 he is fully engaged and very very low!

So I've experienced the full spectrum of positions and I'll tell you they all have their pros and cons!!

But yep, I can concur with the posters on this thread who reassured me that early engagement does not = early arrival. Thank you all.

Glad I came across this one, bubs has been head down past couple of weeks, I had a feeling due to pressure and pelvic pain. Ob confirmed it yesterday, she didn't seem too phased about it.

So guess will wait and see
