I always forget until it's too late, but I've been told that holding an icecube on it can minimise the severity.

I always use Carmex Medicated Lip Balm on them, even when pregnant.

Google it but some of the suggestions include ice, cold tea bags, L-lyseine etc

Sorry I probably did the no no, but I still used zovarax whilst pregnant. It is the only thing that dries mine up and stops the itching.

sorry not much help, but I hope it dries up quickly. I hate them I feel more run down when I've got one than what I did in the first place lol

sorry if this offends anyone, but if you want something that definatly wont hurt your baby and is totally natural...
    i can guarantee this works...
your own urine...pass a clean finger thru the stream of your urine and dap on tingling area = coldsore gone by tomorrow.
    i know, weird, but true.

Alcohol wipes to dry it out.
There's a pressure point on the outer edge of your big toe, you rub it with your thumbnail. My mum swears by it (I swear it works in reverse - if I wear new shoes that rub on my big toe I ALWAYS get a cold sore later)

I definitely would not use zovirax.

I swear by vodka from the freezer - dab it on a cotton ball and then on the coldsore. Dries it up a treat and stops the virus spreading.

Hmmm if I was to try everything I'd have one funky ****tail happening on my lip Carmex, ice cube, vodka, urine, alcohol and a tea bag all while rubbing my big toe what a site!

I'm happy to try just about anything.

Thanks for looking up ref books about the lysine LULU I have used it before and it is good but just got a bit confused at the some say yes some say no while pg

Actually, I credit neat tea tree oil applied frequently with a cotton tip with getting rid of my cold sore that I had two weeks before DD was born It went away in record time without bubbling and bursting!
