Just wanted to see if others have had a baby vomit when getting the molars.
Our DD has had her finger permanently in her mouth, asking for a dummy (which she only has when teething, by her choice), and a bit grizzly. Last night and tonight just as she goes to bed, she throws up.
She has no temp, slightly off food, very disgusting poos, stinky and slightly runny (sorry for TMI), and a little clingy. She is still running around, dancing, and squealing. So she doesn't seem sick, except for the vomiting, just as soon as she goes to bed and has had milk. We also went through this about 6 weeks ago.
After some fighting I managed to get my finger in her mouth and think I felt a tooth coming through. I don't normally push the issue as she gets so worked up, and just go by the external symptoms..
Does it sound like something that you went through with the molars?
We are getting 1yo molars now, and Jazz has been shoving her fingers so far into her mouth that she seems to be constantly gagging and a lot of the time almost vomits. Could that be what your DD is doing?
BTW I completely sympathise with the poo's. OMG Jazzy's butt has been feral the past few days
She isn't sticking her fingers in her mouth at time of vomiting, but yes, through the day she sometimes gags cause she sticks it in so far.
If it is the teething, it is like the pain and milk don't mix. She only does it at night and just one chuck and that's it (just annoying enough to have to change the sheets and chuck her in the shower again).
And as for the nappies, I just wish she would wait till DH was home , give him a share as well.. (both kids always do them just before he gets home, or just after he leaves )
Yep DD1 is like that too, she always goes off her food, sticks to me like glue when she is normally very independent and vomits for no reason. We thougt it was over as she got all of her 2 yo molars but know she is getting ehr 6 yo old ones and is really miserable.
Thank you black_rose. I was concerned about the vomiting, and was putting it down to bad pain.. And after mothers group this morning and reading your post, I am not going to let it get to me.. Nurofen before bed, and towel on the bed, so clean up of spew is easier, LOL..
Nurofen is our best friend at the moment both girls are teething. I hate it when they chuck if they are already asleep I feel so sorry for them. DD1 is two so we can put a bucket for her to use if she is awake.
I'm so glad I came across your post, my 8 month DD has the same problem, she has a little cough and then throws up or is very cranky and squirming and refusing her bottle and then vomits. She just got her first tooth 2 weeks ago and I think another is on the way. She has not been herself for about 3 weeks and I was wondering if there was some underlying problem as her day time sleeps are all over the place as well. She also had a cold the last few weeks so being 7 months was no fun for her.
After reading this and another similar post I think it must be a common thing that some babies go through at this stage
