I think she has a bug? Bad diarrhoea

Hi,

My little girl is 9mths old and since waking up today has done three big runny poo's.... so she has diarrhoea... She hasn't had this before. They are really smelly too.
Should I be taking her to the doctor if it goes on longer than today? I'm keeping up her fluids with breastmilk and offering more water.... is that all I can do? She's asleep now so hopefully the rest will help her get rid of the bug or whatever she has.
Maybe it was something she ate.... ?
I just don't want her to get dehydrated. I wasn't sure what to do.

When DS1 had bad diarrhoea, around the same age, the Dr said to just give him extra fluids - which you are doing. As long as he kept eating and drinking it would go away.

Sometimes you just have no idea where the bugs come from. DS1 had it and no one else did, they must just be extra sensitive. It's pretty awful for babies because they're so vulnerable, but they seem to get better just as fast as they got sick.

Of course, if you're really worried - visit the Dr and just make sure.

Main thing is to keep up the fluids. Dont worry if she goes off her solids.

Poor bubba...hope she is better soon.

Could it be teething? Runny smelly poo is common then too

Poor little girl! And not great for mum either!

Like everyone has said, keep her fluids up, you will notice if something is not quite right, in that case, docs, even just for peace of mind, if it continues for more than 12-24 hours definately see a doc.
