    Enough sleep?

My DS has just recently only been having two small (40 mins or less) sleeps through the day. Some days he's lucky to get an hour all up of sleep. This just doesn't seem like enough at his age. If he slept better at night I might not think anything of it, but he's not a very good night sleeper either.

Not long ago he was having one 40 min nap and one 1.5 hour nap a day - now only these little cat naps. DS seems fine though - not especially tired looking or cranky, and he wakes up from his naps quite happy and ready to get up.

Is this enough sleep at this age? It just doesn't seem enough?

at this age they 'say' they need 14 hours in 24
i think the thing to remember is their all so different and if he's coping ok i think the stress of getting him to sleep longer just isnt worth it!

My DS was always been a cat napper having two 40 minute sleeps a day. He sleeps longer now (and has done for about the last 4 months) but in his first year, he'd only have two cat naps. If your bub seems happy I wouldn't worry. If cranky, you can try to resettle but I never had much luck with that. Check out Karitane - Leaders in parenting services since 1923 (is it ok to put that website up here?) for a great sleep chart of what they need at what age, but remember, our little cherubs don't all go by "the book". Good luck!
