Is my tummy supposed to hurt this much

DS2 is now 5 days old and my tummy is sore! I was pushing for a while (no idea how long) and pushing hard and I'm assuming thats the reason. The pain isn't unbearable, just constant, more when I stand. I'm trying not to do much, but DS1 wants to be picked up & I'm fobbing him off as much as I can.

    Thanks

I'd think it's reasonable to still be tender and sore 5 days later. You have used muscles your body doesn't normally use! But if you are finding it incapacitating or feel that it's a problem, then I would seek help/advice from your hospital or OB.

I hope the pain goes away soon

If it continues, I'd speak to your midwife or Ob. I had continued pain which slowly got worse the first week after DS2 was born. By about day 10 I could hardly walk. I too noticed it more when I stood up.

When I went to see my ob he did an u/sound and found a very large clot still in my uterus. He prodded it a bit which thankfully dislodged it and broke it up and the pain eased after that.

If you aren't feeling better in a few days, I'd definitely get checked out.

    Hope you're feeling better soon
