yellow gunk in eyes!

Just today i noticed that dd had yellow gunk in the corner of one eye, i just wiped it away with a cloth, but about an hour later there was more. It seems to be getting worse over the day, but just kept wiping it away with cotton wool and water. it doesnt seem to be bothering her yet.
What do you think it could be, is there anything i can do t get rid of it or should i just go to the docs. TIA

Sounds like conjunctivitis. It's irritating and contagious so definitely have it checked by the doctor. If you are are BF, you can put some milk into the eye in the meantime to help.

I would guess conjunctivitus.

I would either squirt or sponge some BM on it (I think your sig said you were BF).

If it is viral, dr won't be able to do anything, but if it is allergic or bacterial, then it can be treated with anti-biotics. I personally would wait another day before going to the dr if it isn't bothering her.

Thanks ladies....never knew that about BM....ive just put her to bed but il do that tomorrow! I always thought conjunctivitus was clear not yellow so though it wasnt that, but i dont really know.

clear is viral.
yellow is bacterial or allergic.

my DD has it at teh moment, she is on eye drops. if her eyes swell or get relaly sore or become closed from teh amount of gunk then straight to the docs.

DD's eyes are so puffy and read and its gone into her nose and now she cant breath through her nose at the moment great fun when trying to sleep.

hope she gets better soon
but regular salty water baths for her eyes and use clean tissues or cotton balls not a towel or washer.
