will her bum get smaller when she starts to crawl?

DD, 7 months, is pretty close to crawling.

She's a chubby bub, with rolls of fat on her legs (cute!). Her nappies, especially the bumgenius, are starting to look pretty tight. Not quite let out all the way on the velcro, but nearly.

She is going to get smaller in the bum/thighs when she starts crawling, isn't she? Otherwise I fear she's going to grow out of these nappies before long, and I'll have to find some larger ones, which would be annoying and expensive.

Sadly no, she won't get much smaller with crawling. I've had two chubby little munchkins & it wasn't until they started walking that they started to loose some of the rolls.

I really have no anwser, but everyone does say they slim down.
However, when I first saw this thread I thought it was someone worried about the size of their babys bum! . Glad to see it's not the case!

You'll probably find that the shape of your bub will change completely once crawling - and then again when walking.

everyone used to tell me that DD1 would lose her rolls once she started moving, but she only started slimming down when she hit about 2ish.

All babies are different though

she will slim down a bit , maybe but you will notice at differnt times in their 1st year , their body will suit 1 nappy then during crawling suit another , hang on to them , most likey her body will change in to a differnt shape and you can use them again at a later date.

My friend has a dd who is 17 mths and 15 kgs she is a solid chunky girl , that just got bigger as she got older crawling or walking hasnt changed a thing ( she is very healthy , her weight isnt a concern to the dr as her diet is perfect , just "big boned " i guess )

My dd slimmed down in the hips when walking , i didnt notice it so much when crawling ..

Thanks everyone, I guess they're all different. I'll hope that the nappies continue to fit. We have some way to go before they're unusable, so hopefully she'll be walking before she grows out of them completely.

Dollyroux: I am not at all worried about the size of her bum, only the fit of her nappies. My bum, though, that's another story altogether...

Yes in my case C was in larges from 10 months till hr TT'd at 3 years and BumG's were included in my stash. I'm not totally sure how they would have fitted if the elastic wasn't shot though lol.
As he got more active he lost the chub and they were a tad looser till his frame got bigger
