I was just wondering if anyone (succesfully) tried changing their diet in order to help ease endo symptoms.
I googled it the other day and apparently leaving wheat out of your diet can help you be symptom free in about 9 months.
and kicking dairy and chocolate is better too.
I am now trying this, as I am all for natural therapy etc. And I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this already or is trying now too.
Apparantly endo combined with IBS and tiredness is very common.
To me it was very recognisable.
Sorry if this post is a little strangely put into words, English is not my first language!
Yes, I changed my diet as soon as I was diagnosed with endo and found it helped immensely. Especially getting rid of all the crap, reducing dairy and chocolate and avoiding soy products. A naturopath helped me get sorted with a new diet at the time. I also recommend reading Endometriosis and Other Pelvic Pain by Dr Susan Evans as there is lots of info in there about managing endo symptoms through diet and other means.
Thanks for that! Anything in specific that you added to your diet? Or was it more avoiding things for you? I now skip chocolate, diary, wheat and soy and try to minimise sugar.
Did you have trouble conceiving? I conceived with the help of acupuncture first time but would LOVE to do it with just a diet this time.
For me it was mainly avoiding things - fats, sugar and soy the mains one. I had a very bland diet for a while. After the laparascopy I just didn't feel like eating anything rich or spicy, my gut couldn't handle it but slowly that came back and just left out the rubbish.
From the time I was diagnosed with endo and the time I conceived it was 2.5 years. My endo was described as severe. It was everywhere through my pelvis, over my uterus and ovaries and my fallopian tubes were fully blocked. The gyno could not get any dye through them. My left ovary and my bowel were stuck together too. Because my tubes were blocked, the gyno said I would never conceive naturally. The IVF specialist told me I'd have a 30% chance with IVF. In the end, it happened naturally! Took awhile, but it happened.
