baby crying at every feed please help

Hi our 5 week old dd is very miserable. When she wakes after a few minutes she is upset so I feed her, during her feed she is ok, but afterwards she cries and is very upset. She has been this way since thursday. I rang the doctors on friday to get an appointment but they could only give us one on tuesday. (not open over weekend).

I think she may have bad reflux as she has lots of symptoms. The most worrying being her crying, it sounds like a painful cry, she is obviously uncomfortable, and also when we lay her down she is very upset, but when she is exhausted and needs to sleep it sounds like she has congestion, like a cold, or 'fluidy' which I read is also a sign of reflux. other symtoms include, lots of hiccups, wet burps which hurt her, lots of regurgitation, spits, which she sometimes cries when it comes up, she only seems happy in the sitting position.

what we want to know is, should we take her the hospital? as she seems very upset. or can't they do anything as she is still drinking? (she is breastfed) and has plenty of wet nappies. I will definately ring the doctors first thing monday and try and book her in. but should we be taking her somewhere today? the doctors are closed

some of the symptoms she has had longer than thursday but we just thought it may be colic or wind. once I read about reflux it seems to make sense that its that. I feel helpless and don't know what to do. She has sounded 'fluidy' like a cold, when we lay her down for a while, I even mentioned it to them at the hospital after the birth, but they said it was normal.

she hates to be put in the lying down position, we have to sit her upright for a long time after feeds, until she is so exhausted she is falling asleep upright, then we lay her down and she cries. this goes on until she just gets tired and has to lie down.

Sounds like it could be reflux - DD1 had silent reflux, so we had all those symptoms, except for the spit ups - she only had little ones, if she had any at all, most of her vomiting was happening inside her body.

I found medication didn't help her at all. We went down the road of getting a homeopathic remedy and that worked for us.

Also elevating one end of her cot helped heaps too.
