i use Thursday Plantation walkabout insect repellant, from the health food shop, its tea tree based
Hello,
Anyone knows good and safe mozzie repellent for babies? We'll take dd for holiday in Indonesia in 2 weeks and I have this long list of what to bring (a bit panicky as this will be her first long trip). Mozzie repellent is definitely a must but not sure which one is good.

Going overseas you definelty want to be using something, most on the market are from the 12mths and up but we do alot of camping and I was worried that DD would get bitten to much, she was 6 months. I used the RID Kids roll on, I trialled it on a patch of her skin to test for allergy and the dr said it was fine in small doses so we only applied small dots on her ankles, wrists, belly and back of the neck. At most times she was under a mosquito net if we could.
we use MOOV natural roll on.
MOOV Insect Repellent
it does say not for children under 12 months unless under doctors advice - but it's active ingredient is 50mg/g melaleuca oil. I guess the risk is skin irritation from the oil. I'd rather that than DEET any day.
Thanks everyone.
Will surely try to get the mosquito net. Went to nearby pharmacist yesterday, they don't have anything for babiesWill try bigger pharmacist today and note down all those you suggested

you could use those click things or the wrist/ankle bands you can get them at BCF I know and kmart big w etc
I see that Pigeon now have mosquito repellant wipes - they are amongst the baby things at the chemist - maybe check them out?
And i'd rather use DEET than my child get malaria!
Long term use is not recommended, and i don't use it in Australia, (i have a great natural one, that i can't remember the name of but will be back to tell you.) but i will be using it when we are in PNG.
For a short trip of 2 weeks, using the childrens insect repellent with DEET in it would be a good idea if you are in an area with malaria.
The children's one has much less DEET in it.
Thanks everyone.
I finally go with MOOV and also got the RID kids - just in case the latter is more suitable for my DD's skin. Let's see how they go
Happy holiday for everyone!
Have a fantastic trip!
