Question Cloth pads while out/working? And diva cup experiences?

Just got AF (and OWWWIE this one really hurts ). I use cloth pads, which obviously haven't been a problem being a SAHM, plus I never venture very far for very long during AF because i just don't like to.

No choice next week, I work 5 days, and my AF is 7 days long, heavy for 5.

I'm a bit concerned about cloth pads while at work because my AF is quite heavy, I'd have to change at least 2-3 times during a 7 hour day... I'm not sure how pads would go in my bag all day... stinky? Are there any good pad bags/wet bags I could use?

    How do you do it?

Do you think it's worth investing in a diva cup? The sink is in a public place though so I'm not sure if I'd be able to use one since I'm not exactly able to go to the sink and rinse......

Ive gone to an all day party and had AF at the baby expo last year whilst I worked there.
Make sure that you use winged ones to catch any run away's and when you take it of, fold it back into its self so the wings can close together IFYKWIM and that the contaminated section is wrapped back and inside of the package.. If you dont have a wetbag (which reminds me I need one) use a sandwich bag, with the closuer on the top and use a new one for each pad. That way there will be no smell and it will be nicely sealed.

    You'll be right hon

Oh, just bumping this up... has anyone used a diva cup? I think I'd like that 'added protection' without having to use a tampon... Is it really big? Can you feel it?

Not a Diva cup but a mooncup. It is large enough to safely hold a heavy days flow - I've gone 8 hours without emptying and no overflows. And no, you don't feel it at all, they do take a bit of practice to learn how to get it in right and once you've mastered getting it out, you snip off the stick part and you don't even know it's in there. Sooo much better than a tampon as you still have your natural lubrication (so you might think you're overflowing, but it's just your natural cm) and you don't have the dried out feeling that a tampon gives.

i have a double mama pad wetbag made by OUTRAGEOUS on the ozebaby site.

one side is for the dry mama pads
one side is for the used mama pads
    both sides snap together

i would have a trial run, on a non-work day, to test out the system. e.g even though you're at home, pretend you have the same set up as at work, and use your system accordingly. Also, pack spares, JIC.

Gigi how big would that bag and contents be? Anyone know what to get for keeping in trouser pockets?
I dont take my handbag to the loo at work so would need to hide things in my pockets to and from the desk.

Leash, My mooncup would definately not hold a full day's flow at work, except for the last couple of days. I just empty, wipe out with nice clean loo paper and reuse. I always give it a good wash at night.

I don't use any reusable products for AF, but a good friend recommended owning 2 cups, then you can empty one while in the loo, and put a clean one in. That's what she does while at work.

With a cup couldn't you just take a small bottle of water to the toilet with you in your bag? Then you could empty and rinse the cup into the toilet?
