Hi girls,
I have a 5 months old baby girl who was severly troubled with reflux and colic when she was born and has only just started to settle down now, thank god! I was breastfeeding her until she was 3 months old and a lactation consultant, doctor and paed all told me to stop during the day and put her on thickened formula until she settled down. she was just screaming at the breast all the time it was horrible. so the formula worked really well but now she has settled down i have tried latching her back on the breast and she is willing to go on but as there isn't much there anymore she gets frustruated obviously. i have always done the dream feed so still have some milk there.
i really want to try and relactate for during the days. my doctor has given me motilium. has anyone had success with this and if so how long did it take? it crushed me to stop feeding her so i have hope that we can do it again.
any other suggestions to increase my supply during the day?
many thanks
I have heard lots of people success with motilium. Also continue trying to latch her on as frequently as you can as her sucking will help produce more milk.
I cant help with any experience but I have heard alot of people talk about fenugreek (havent personally tried it) and how it helps increase supply. I was told by my baby nurse that alot of oats and nuts for breakfast can help.
I also saw a book at my local library once (sorry cant remember the name of it) on re-lactation and feeding adopted or sick babies. Maybe you might be able to find one similar.
Yes i did relactate with DD i would suggest using motilium!!!! and AliBabay is right.. attatch her whenever you can to get your BBs producing more milk again!

Just saw this thread and was wondering how you are going with the relactating??? I relactated last year....wasn't fully successful but got my bub down to only 1-2 bottles a day. You really need to take 2 tablets three times a day for a good result from the motilium, but you can't exceed 8 tabs in a 24hr period.
