A new thread! I didn't even realise until I read Amanda's from the last thread.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all had a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends.

Maya - How was trip up to your parents place? I love celebrating xmas with friends. We headed over to friends for dinner and it was fabulous! They are Indian/Italian mix so had food from both countries (yumooo!!!), and they sing, play guitar and bongo's. So we had our own little band night - kids thought it was great. One of the most fun, relaxing xmas nights I've had in a long time.

Tali - we'll still be chatting till were old and grey lol!!!! Talking about our grandchildren by then! How did the move go, you all settled in?

Our Christmas was fun. Lunch out with DH's parents, relatives, back to our place for a while and the kids swam. No idea why, it wasn't even hot! We did turn the spa on before we left but the spent more time in the pool. Then off to a friends for dinner. Exhausted by the end of the night, didn't get to bed till after midnight. Then my family came over for dinner on Boxing Day. Great day/night, kids in the pool/spa again, but DH said he just loves seeing the enjoyment on their faces, they loved it. Another late night. Sunday a quiet day. DH and I bought ourselves a new TV and Wii. Spent most of the day playing around with that - its so much fun and very addictive!! Chelsea is brilliant at bowling, has beaten me evertime. Also got the Wii Fit which is fun, but a bit tricky at times. Chelsea did the aerobics, she did better than unco me!!!

Heading to Philip Island on Wed to see our friends new holiday house which has just been built. Then a NYE party here on Thursday. Its going to be 35 degrees - YEAH!! We have 4 families and their kids coming and they are all excited as they can swim all night!!!

What's everyone else got planned for NYE?

Hey everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas!
Mel - sounds just ace, both Christmas and NYE!
I think we're just gonna have my GF's family over for NYE, as nothing else has been organised and it would be nice to spend it here on the deck, now that it's finished and it's our last summer here.
My parents' place is gorgeous! The house is divine and the gardens really impressed me - someone really loved that place before my parents got there. After a series of homes that needed work, it's about time they got this place that only needs garden maintenance - no structural issues, no need for renos or paint jobs...it's all there! I'm so happy for them. Oscar just loved it there with them, too and didn't want to leave - good sign, we can send him up on his own now, I reckon
Better go, we got back at 6pm and Osc slept most of the way...so he's still awake but in need of bedtime.

Good Afternoon girls! Good to hear you had lovely Christmases We had a quiet one on the day then on boxing day travelled to Sale for the weekend to stay with DH's family. We also played lots of Wii games and Wade was ace at the tight rope one! My record for downhill skiiing was 45 seconds, pretty proud of that! LOL Yes it sure is addictive Mel!

Well I have just let Tina the hen inside as it's so hot outside I felt sorry for her. She is so cute how she drinks water... like she's doing ATM.

Verity has stayed on in Sale with family as they have a permanent camp site right on the lake... apparently she will be learning to water ski.

No real plans for NYE other than to sit with DH (after the boys are asleep) and do a large jigsaw, having a few drinks and listening to music as is our tradition since having kids!!!

Tali: I agree with Mel, we'll be chattin' in here when we are grannies LOL giving our poor in-law children a real going over! I think I'll be first when Verity finds her "keeper" man LOL God help the woman that settles down with Niall (although he'll give her lots of laughs as she pulls her hair out!)... the one that catches Wade will be quite lucky though (he is still my polite and tidy little man).... how funny... no jokes we'll be doing this, mark my words!

Maya: up for a meetup up your way???

Ali: hope all is well now.

Yes!! My place or Earthly Pleasures Cafe - huge garden for kids to run riot in it's open from Wed-Sun, if that helps narrow down a day!
Bath - We drove up Boxing Day, too - maybe we overtook you, as DP loves having a V6 engine that takes on safe overtaking easily (this man normally drives a '67 VW!!)

Maya: I'm good for pretty much any day... but before the 20th of Jan as this is when Niall starts kinder... did I mention that from then he will be in kinder full-time Tue-Friday??? It sounds bad but I am counting down the days... he is so bored at home. That cafe sounds great!

I'm good before the 16th, cos this is when my sister goes to East Gippy and I'll go up then, too.
Yes, that IS terrible, Bath...you're supposed to feel completely fulfilled and provide all the stimulation that your child needs... I've still got just one day a week at creche, cos MiL takes Osc a couple of other times during the week. I'm contemplating a drama class locally, now that we have Wednesdays again...very tempting!

DH just rang to ask if I wanted to go away for a few days next week... what timing! It will narrow it down a bit further but we'll only be away 2 nights. I suggested the Yarra Valley Sebel... close to home but with air con and an indoor pool! DH's work paid for our last stay there... it was great. Also it's close to a local Polish chicken breeder where we were hoping to pick up two friends for Tina!

Oh short courses Maya!!! Sounds great! My motto (an old aboriginal saying) this year was meant to be "The more you know, the less you need" trying to reign in a bit of spending! But my logic is that a class doesn't count :P I'm thinking French. Hope you make that drama class Maya!

I never even thought about doing one myself...but that little chestnut just keeps nagging away at me, even though DP says to give up cos I've already got too much on (talk about red rag to a bull...)!! The drama class is for Oscar, at the local arts centre (Burrinja - another place we could meet up, but I prefer EP for food and enclosed garden), actually, and we couldn't do it last year cos it was on Mondays and he would have been maxed out from playgroup. Thanks for the misunderstanding, Bath - like a slap upside the head to remind me that I don't have to be back at uni till next July...meanwhile...oooh, my mind is ticking over wildly, and I'm going to check out short course timetables to see what's going on Tuesdays!!
The YV Sebel is just ace - never stayed there, but I"m hoping I get to go there for a women in firefighting conference. If the YV gets the nod as the venue, then yours truly is on the organising committee - slightly daunting, but I'm willing to take it on! For selfish reasons I'm hoping it's in the YV (won't have to stay overnight - I'm one of the few vols in the assoc and can't claim it on tax or get my employer to pay for it as a PD). Jealous of you staying there next week!
ETA: to clarify, Oscar is in creche on Tuesdays (this year was Wednesdays), which means I have him on Wednesdays. This works out better because Wed is also brigade training night. I stopped going to training soon after he started at creche when I was about 7 months pg because it was too much for him, emotionally, to see me for about an hour then be shipped off to MiL's (though I'm kind of afraid to suggest to DP that he ask her to come here on Wed nights) and not see us till morning (cos he'd be asleep by the time we got back and stay asleep for car-to-bed transfer). MiL couldn't really cope with him being upset (not big on 'sookiness'...though he's hardly a sooky kid!) and I felt it was unfair on Oscar. I can go back to training with T-girl in arms like I did with Osc now, cos we won't be separated during the day of brigade training Think typing. And doing a much better job now that I'm using two hands to type and don't have friggin Kimba the White Lion playing on the computer next to me...

I was busy wondering why everyone had been so quiet, and then realised that there had been a new thread started!

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas, ours was busy, but nice! Unfortunatly I had managed to pick up a virus, so wasn't feeling 100%, which was a real shame because I was planning on haing a big one as it is the first christmas in ages I havent been pg, breastfeeding or had a really young baby. Oh well, plenty of time for that. The kids got spoilt as usual, but were really happy because my Bro and SIL came back from Canberra, so they were able to see their cousins, Tori has really missed her cousin, so was pleased as punch to have her here.

Not got much on for New Years, we are going to a ****tail party new years day with Pete's family. Then it is my 30th Birthday on Monday, so busy times ahead.

Anyway I hope everyone is enjoying being with their families over this holiday period- looking forward to sharing more adventures with you all in the new year!

So glad you all had a lovely Christmas and new year, ours was very quite, due to us moving house, but we are all in now, shame Mackay is still Mackay, but I will try to suck it up, dont know how long I can do that for, I was extreamly depress a few months back, I so dont want to sink into that black hole, which is always lurking around the edges...

Lets see, I have two sisters due to have their 1st baby this year, they are both very excitied, but both have had M/C before so are also a little worried, one is now about 16 weeks the other is 8, so my parent s will soon have lots of little ones to keep them occupied, I have other sister who TTC with help and looks like it might be IVF for her this year, but a long as it get the right result in the end who cares how the baby got there hey, another has her DF moving to Australia to be with her he comes from poland so Australia weather is goin gto be a bit of a shock for him, his visa just came though to he is coming out in Feb poor boy I feel sorry for him the hottest time of year for Vic, well I guess this will be a good test of their relationship...

so as you could guess with all this happening down home I am feeling very home sick, never have felt this way before when I ahve moved away, dont know why now after 12 years of living away from vic why its hit me now, but God I miss everyone...

On a good note, I am coming down on my OWN in late feb, just for the weekend its mum's birthday and the girls are taking her to go see Mumma Mia, she doesnt know that I am coming too... I am so very excitied to be going home for a weekend, plus this will be my very first weekend away on my own since having winkies, which is 10 years this year, ( another sad point who said kids are aloud to grow up so fast, if Zayden is 10 that must mean I am now 10yrs older too ) I am going to be staying with my brother... Plus I havent ever been to the theater ( sad I know ) never seen any conserts either, ( I have no life ) and really wanted to see mumma mia...

well thats about it for now
    have a great day xx

Tali - I'm feeling your anguish from your post! So glad you get to come down in Feb - it will come quickly When you guys come to Vic again and we're on our farm, you can stay with us (may have to tent it...) but then you're half wasy between the Melb and Inverloch (where your p's are?) That's not just an offer, it's an instruction!!
Can't wait to catch up with the Melb chicks next week or the week after.
Had a really perfect New Years. I've had good ones (not recently!), but none that I would call perfect - and to think it all sort of organically happened in the late arvo!
Nic - your photo tribute to the decade is ace!!
Better go put this girl in a sling...
    Happy New Year!

Firstly, Tali I know all too well the feeling of being torn between places. Maya is right, Feb will be here before you know it. Now make sure you take up Maya's offer too if you can

Meetup dates good and not-so-good for me:

Monday 4th Not good, Wade dentist appointment at 1pm.
    Tuesday 5th Good
    Wednesday 6th Good
Thursday 7th Not good, Endocrinologist appointment (wretched thyroid)
Friday 8th (reserved for Yarra Valley trip)
    Saturday 9th (reserved)
    Sunday 10th (reserved)
Monday 11th through to the 15th Good

I'll update this post if any of these days become "not good".

Nic: is your tribute in FB? Looking forward to checking that out Going to load some photos of our Christmas period there now too.

Bath, the following week is looking better for me, too. My mum's got a friend from O/S visiting Oz for the first time and she'll do the Melb component with her next week, before taking her to Sydney then back to the country. The following week is the week before my sister gets here and all is well for that week!
Sorry about the previous post - was typing one handed, with Kimba the friggin (I mean, white) Lion playing in the background with Oscar's running (loud) commentary!
