Question Was your morning sickness different for boy/girl bub?

Just wanting to know some of your experiences.

My first pg, I had m/s from week 5, and this is my second and I'm feeling yucky at times but no throwing up YET.
my mum reckons m/s is different for boys/girls. Might be an old wives tale , but I think I was worse the last time cos it was winter and I felt worse cos of the cold. This time it's warmer and I dont think I feel so bad. Though, i do feel yuckier in the a/c at work.
(having said that, m/s could kick in any time soon!)

With DS, I had no morning sickness at all with the exception of only one spew at around 12 weeks and that was it.

This time around, I had morning sickness for the whole first trimester. Just constant nausea and feeling ill and a few spews here and there. We're having a girl this time.

Yep! I had severe ms with both the girls. I mean really really bad, throwing up on average 17 times a day til about 5 months!
But with Jesse I only had what I would think would be normal ms. Throw up maybe once a day, sometimes not at all. Was great! & ended around 13/14 weeks.
Heat was always worse for me. I couldn't sit in the sun for 5 minutes. My head would start spinning & I'd feel sick.

    NOPE.
DS1 - icky feeling until about 14 weeks then nothing
DS2 - blah until the same time
DD1 - I spewed until 26 weeks (even in the coles meat department )
DS3 - all day every day.....It was the worst m/s I had ever had with any of the kids

i was different with both pregancies

with Ds i hardly ever threw up, the worst was when i had a bad fever but i hardly spewed at all. i also had a real love for hot chips when preg withhim.

this one the ultra sound showed a girl at 20 weeks, i had spewed everyday until i was 22 weeks and just the thought of hot chips made me sick, let alone eating them in fact anything greasy was " blech" mostly ate fruit n veg this time.

with each of my boys my MS got increasingly worse with each pregnancy. It started with nothing at all with the first, slight nausea witht the 2nd, nauseous and odd day of spewing with number three and number four was spewing at least once every day and constant nausea all day.
This time I am having a girl and I had a little blah feeling a bit yuck but it went away when I ate something.
I guess my experience isnt really a good indication of boys and girls being different when it comes to MS

I had very little morning sickness with my first two & have had nausea most days from 4 weeks with the new little munchkin (or munchkins ). My mum though, was fine with three girls but dreadfully sick with her boy.

Only the slightest nausea with DD for a few weeks - no vomiting.

This time, vomiting up to 9 times a day for first 13 or 14 weeks - it's a boy.

Mine was different with DD to this time. With DD it lasted until 16 weeks so I was expecting the same this time but instead it stopped right on 12 weeks. Maybe a boy vs girl thing?

    thanks everyone!
maybe my mother could be right, LOL. it was different for her with my brother and me. she was sick for longer with me. and ate lots of spicy food, compared to sweet with my brother. which is true for us, i love spicy food and my bro has a sweet tooth.

will have to wait and see.

Sarah, omg - munchkins!! more than one??? eek? had your scan?

Just reading this has me thinking i could be having a girl, i wont base it on the fact that many of you were sicker with your girls but i have had the worst morning sickness basically from week 5 and it seems to be getting worse, nearly all foods at somepoint have made me gag or dry heave. Then i have my moments of craving something spicy but have gone off all sweet things... hmmm very interesting.. i'll sure let you ladies know in 11 weeks what im having. Everyone has already said they think im having a girl.

    DS1 - I had m/s (vomitting and nausea in the morning only) from 5 - 14 weeks.
DS2 - All day sickness (no vomitting, just nausea) from weeks 7 - 9.
DD - No m/s or nausea, but bad heartburn and indigestion instead from weeks 6 - 12.

My mum and my sister also had no m/s when having girls, but did have m/s when having boys. Seems to run in our family!

DD#1 vomitted EVERY morning for the first couple of months (was a PITA when walking to school) bt wasn't 'sick'
DD#2 nausea from about 6 weeks for the first tri maybe a bit beyond
DD#3 Nausea from almost 6 weeks for the first tri and a bit beyond
DD#4 Nausea from 6 weeks for the frist tri and a bit beyond
DS#1 nausea from BFP to beginning of 2nd tri (not sure if that is because the pregnancy ended early). Vomitting about once a day from 7 weeks to about 11 weeks.

This pregnancy is a bit of a mix.... nausea from BFP worsening at 5 weeks but comes and goes... *shrugs*

DS1 nausea in the mornings that was eased by eating cheese sandwiches, from about 6wks to near the end of the first trimester.
DD1 hardly any at all. A few queasy days in the first few weeks and then nothing at all the rest of the pg.
DD2 same as my first pg which kinda made me think that she was another he.
DS2 the worst one of the lot for m/s. I hardly ate a thing during the first half of the pg and I felt like crap all the time, usually worse at night than it was in the morning. It came back again in the last 5 wks of the pg.

I never vomitted with any of mine, but with DS2 I came the closest I ever came LOL. I actually said to DH at about 14wks that if I knew the m/s would be this bad I wouldn't have wanted another baby ROFL. Incidentally I had the worst m/s with my big babies.

With DS I had no morning sickness at all.

I am due in 2 weeks with another boy and I had morning sickness past 12 weeks.

I don't think it has anything to do with gender

I had the most, and the least MS with my girls.

    DD1 - MS twice a week until 12 weeks.
    DS1 - a little on & off, nothing much
DS2 - I think maybe once or twice before 12 weeks then nothing
DD1 - nothing. Not even nausea...

    so nope,all totally different here.

I tell you what WAS the same with the girls... I was an emotional time bomb. With my boys I was very zen....

isn't it interesting how there seems to be a slant towards gender.

maybe we could a poll and see whether boy or girl gave us the worst ms. it could be no ms, mild, bad ms.
    would this be possible, mods?
