What do you think of this name?

What do you think of this name.... Yamila?

    How would you pronounce it?

If you are not keen on it is it because you are not sure what the name is and how to pronounce it (or simply just don't like it)?

    Thanks

I saw it and said it the same as Camila but Yam instead, hope that makes sense?

Its not that I'm not keen on it more I'm not sure, only due to what it can be shortened too, nicknames etc......but it is unusual and I love unusual names so maybe I'd get used to it over time?

    Hope thats what you wanted.

I would pronounce it Ya (as in "what are ya up to") Mila (as in camilla)

I'd also pronounce as Ya-milla, sounds like Camilla. Not sure that I'm a fan of it because it doesn't really sound right to me.

    I'd pronounce it as Yah-Meela.
Not sure I'm the biggest fan though.

sorry - its not really my style - but if you like it go for it!
Id say it like Camilla - but think its nicer with the ee sound (meela)

Thanks for the replies, I do like it but am worried about pronunciation.

It is pronounced with meela sound, Ya-meela (but said quicker so the Ya isn't over pronounced).

I wouldn't want it pronounced Ya - miller all the time.

The traditional spelling is Yamila but do you think Yamela is better?

I don't like it as Yamela 'cause I then think it would be mispronounced to sound like Pamela with a Y

ETA - You know, the more I am thinking about this name, the more I am liking it. I think it sounds pretty.
