To me they are different names. I used to know a Peirs - pronounced Peerz, whereas Pierce is like Pierce Brosnan or to pierce something with a skewer IYKWIM.

I'd swap the i and e around so it's Piers, but other than that I can't think of any other way to spell it I think I prefer that spelling to Pierce...

Yeh that. Id be worried peirs would get 'py-ers'
It all depends on how you want the name pronounces, as Piers would have be 'peers' where Pierce has a harsher sound to it.

I like Pierce. I think if you went with Piers he would constatntly get Piers - as in the plural of pier.

I agree with Mummy Tummy - only because I met a Peirs (pronounced Peerz) - although I think it was spelt Piers.

Overall though, sweetie - its your name & your baby, so you do whatever you think

    oh I like this thread

    Peerze?

the second e would have to be hyphoneated so would have a liitle do dab " above it so it still sounded like the original version..I just cant put it on here (takes to much thinking space)

Slightly surprised no-one's suggested Pearce yet! Would that spelling work for you?

I think if you go with Peirs, you'll constantly get the wrong pronunciation. I think Peirce or Pearce would be much better.

I think I would spell it Peirce or Pearce. Otherwise you will probably be correcting people or the time and spelling it.

my first thought with that spelling would be to pronounce it peerze, so if its Pierce Brosnan style sounding i would go with that spelling or Pearce

Thanks girls....I still dont know which way to go but you have all given me some good ideas.
I love the name and im really happy with our decision for both babies. I dont want to have to keep picking people up on it all the time tho.
I have to with my DD1, her name is Brea I spell it Breah and bl00dy everyone still calls her Brie and It makes me real angry!!

Still working on there middle names but his will be either Eric Lucas or Henry Philip.

If it were me I would decide how I wanted it pronounced (because to be Peirs and Pierce have two very different sounds) and then go from there.

    LOVE your middle names BTW
