    Ummm..needles in NSW

Hi this might sound dumb but where do you book in for immunisations in NSW...Is it just at the GP or at the community nurse? Do you have to get a script filled?

I dont use any health services for myself or hubby as we are in Defence so all this medicare stuff and normal doctors stuff baffles us.

    Thanks in advance..

The community nurse should be able to tell you when and where the council immunisation clinics run. You don't need to have a script filled for those, and don't see a doctor - just the nurses who do the actual injections.

I'm not sure how it runs when you see the GP. I'll find out on Tuesday as we're getting Sam's 12 month immunisations down with the GP rather than the council clinics.

With your GP you just make an appointment (or turn up depending on the GP) and let them know it is for immunisations. They usually have them on site and they give them at your appointment. My GP is wonderful - to the point I am delaying DD's 12m needles until she comes back from leave at the end of the month

I have got DD's done at the dr.
They have all the viles of the vacines there and you don't need to get a script or anything they just give it to them.

I know there are immunisation clinics too - maybe ask at community health???

I haven't had to get a script filled at the drs or the health centre.

No worries, Natty. I've been away and fairly house-bound myself with arthritis and now nasty eye problems that have me not really wanting to drive anywhere unless I have to.
