Question Can't stop eating but struggle to drink!

Im really struggling to keep my fluids up at the moment, im not the best water drinker and feel a bit yuck with cordial/ soft drink but i cant stop eating!

Ive not got any pg symptoms except hunger! lol but feel bloated when i have fluids? Is this normal?

im also having lots of gray discharge, could this be thrush?

Are you using pessaries or anything like that? Could explain discharge.

hmm, as for fluids, my only suggestion would be to try something different to drink. I really like juice with soda water, for eg, for when I just can't manage water. Or else, what about juicy fruit?

    All the best ~~

Not sure about the thrush thing hun, sorry. But I really struggle to keep my fluids up in the 1st tri, and I'm normally a really good water-drinker. I cannot stand water in the first half of pg, and even cordial etc doesn't go down well. I just don't feel like any of it! But yes, I would get bloated after having fluids.

Well, you know I get sick, so eating anything at all is good for me in the first half. But I am now (mostly) like you, in that I want to devour everything!!! I have heard that it's a common pg side effect, even in the 1st tri

ETA Oh yeah Marcellus, my acupuncturist was always at me to keep my fluids up, even if it was just through eating juicy/watery fruit and veg

I always liked to drink san pellegrino sparkling mineral water (had to be that brand). It was really good on the tummy... Hope you find some way to keep hydrated in this heat.

have you tried icypoles hun? i couldn't stomach anything much for months - but icy poles helped keep my hydrated through this kind of weather last summer... i just got the natural fruit juice ones - yeah, they're juice, but cos they're so cold, it doesn't taste so much like juice kwim?

I was exacly the same with the fluid intake in the first tri - actually still pushing myself now & usually I'm a 2L a day girl with no issues at all.
The other thing is that I can usually only drink it room temp (after doing so for so many years with IVF) - but now I can only drink it cold... room temp gives me nausea

The best thing I found was mineral water with a little syrup or cordial in it - or even the fiji water with the splash of flavours etc.
I was drinking a lot of ginger beer as well, but that was to help with the morning sickness

I have only just discovered food again now because I'm feeling better... lucky you may escape the m/s... I'll be so jealous

I would say the discharge is from the meds you're taking... if there's no pain/itching etc its not likely to be anything bad hun xxx

ETA - I think its about time you updated your blog for us stalkers, you know

You could try ice cubes or adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to the water? And if you feel blaoted, have a drink bottle that you can sip instead of having a whole glass at a time.

If you can eat - how about fruit salad?? Particularly watermelon etc. That will give you the fluids without drinking as such. Icy cold fruit is really nice

As for fluids - I live on soda water

Michelle71 thats a good idea about the fruit salad.

Loula do you feel dehydrated? Is your wee that horrid yellow colour? If not I wouldn't be too concerned. You can also get fluid from ice cream, soups and yogurts etc anything fluidy to eat works the same as thinner fluids like water.

    Ohhh Lou! Praying mate.

Do you like watermelon? Soup is a good idea. Smoothies? And icy poles...I can recommend Frosty Fruits as an excellent pregnancy treat.

Otherwise, with water, maybe a bit of the old fashioned discipline, set a timer for every hour or so and just scull a small glass or something. All the best!

If you are finding it hard to drink, you could try foods that are watery...lol if that makes sense, like watermelon and grapes and iceberg lettuce! They are all good hydraters!

I LOVE water lol so i don't drink much else, but my partner hates it so he is always mixing it with cordial etc, you could try really really diluting it so its watery but with a tiny bit of cordial taste?

Or lemonade icey poles! They are always good when you are sick to give you a bit of sugar and hydrate you a bit! I lived off them when i got rotar virus. (I used to work on a dairy and i got it off the calves, its like gastro but lasts for like a month! Shocking!)

    Callipos are also great.
Watermellon juice (just zap it in a blender).
I found fizzy drinks helped my burping/gas but filled me up more. I would just drink a little at a time but mostly I tried lemon juice in water, and a little cordial (nice expensive pure one) in water and served cold.

I have EVERYTHING crossed for you sweets. As HB said its hard to stalk/cheer you on ATM so anytime you are ready to post your friends are ready to help.

I was similar. Drinking made me gag for some reason and I'd only get a couple of sips down. If you're worried then maybe fill a bottle and sip from that during the day so at least you can see you're getting something in.

    Everything crossed babe xox
