Amber teething necklace real or fake?

I just got our necklace in the mail yesterday. On the website it said that it was baltic amber but I am not 100%. I tried doing the floating test as real should float in salt water. This one sunk. How long before I should notice a difference in my DD? I am abit worried I have bought a dud.

Where did you buy it from, Kylie? I got certificates of authenticity with mine.

Another thought - could it be the weight of the string and clasp that's making it sink rather than float?

I got it from a queensland online store for only $17.95 so it was very cheap. I won't name the store yet incase it is the real deal. It said its 100% but didn't come with anything to authenticate it. I suppose it could be the threads. I think I am just going to have to wait and see if it makes a difference. I am kicking myself that I didn't just go ahead and pay the extra.

I got mine from a QLD online store too......Ecobaby I think?? Mine was cheaper than usual too but I'd say mine works. DS2 has had it off a couple of times and he's been a total rat!!!
