My name is Mel ( lala1971) and I am new to this forum, so hopefully i am starting off in the correct area.
I am nearly 27weeks pregnant, with twins.......boys.....so that adds to the two little boys I already have. 4 and 2 : ) So lets just say I think Ill have my hands full hey? : )
I live down Rockingham way in Western Australia and would love to chat with anyone, pregnant, not pregnant, older Mums, younger Mums, expecting twins, expecting singletons.....well you get my drift.
Hi Mel and welcome to BellyBelly!
Take a tour around and you'll find lots of places to chat - with your Belly Buddies, other members in WA and so on.
all the best for your pregnancy
Welcome to BB and congatulations on your twin pregnancy. Wow you really will have your hands full!! Having twins can be difficult sometimes but it is just magical at the same time, when they always have their little mate beside them, to play with, to hug whenever they need it and even to share their food and drinks sometimes lol, it is amazing to watch!! Plus getting twice the kisses and cuddles is nice
Ammaki - its funny as people still ask if im going to try for a girl after.......noooooo I think four kids may be my limit. Im so excited though : )
Marcellus - i have been a part of quite a few forums in my day and just given up on them........sometimes the girls can be so *****y, so Im looking forward to my stay here, thanks : )
Nikki87 - thank you. I love Bunbury its one of my fave places. We are practically neighbours now that that new highway has gone through : )
ktgirl - oohhhh so you have just had twins. Can i pick your brains? : ) Gosh there are so many little silly questions you think of. Did you put your bubs together in the same cot for the first few months? what would you suggest? You know its funny, Im starting to have panic attacks during the night now.....not because Im worried how Im going to handle the work load of four kids but Im scared that the twins are going to come too early.....is that silly???
We werent going to have anymore kids so decided to give all the baby stuff away, cots, prams, etc and then about three weeks later i told hubby I wanted just one more. I think he was a little hesitant at first but soon warmed to the idea( obviously - hehe) 'Yes lets go for one more".......well you should have seen his face when the doctor said there was twins in there.....haha it went bright red ( i thought he was going to faint). But how lucky are we......greedy.......two more.....I am so stoked!!!!
Goodness me i have talked alot this morning : ) have a great day girls : )
Lol i know a couple who tried until they got their girl, 7 boys & a girl they have
I'd love twins, at my sisters school there are 6 sets of twins in her year!!! Must've been something in the water 16 years ago that produced so many hehe
Mel! Welcome! Your in my neck of the woods! Great to see
I'm Liz, 24 and have a little boy, WIlliam who's almost 3 months. We live in Baldivis, only bout 10-15 minutes away from Rockingham, though we're commonly in Rockingham because we're always visiting the ILs (They live in Cooloongup)
Ammakie - 8 children - holy guacamole!!!!! thats all i can say about that : )
LizJessie - thanks. We are in Port Kennedy actually so think we are getting closer hehe William is now one of the names we have for the boys. We already have a Connor & Liam and I wanted something to go with those names ( as you do) anyhow we have gone from Finn, Declan, Tanner, Talon, now we are at Peter & William so a little more normal.......but they are growing on me.
Lily Dust - oh thats such a pretty name. Thanks for your welcome : ) Im getting a little freaked at how big im going to get....but so far the pregnancy is quite comfortable (ish)
Hi Mel and welcome! Congratulations on all your boys I have 3 boys (one 8 month old biological son and 2 step sons, 10 and almost 13) and while the bigger step boys can be a handful, it's very rewarding !
It sounds like you are very excited about having twins. My DH has reluctantly agreed to have one more baby (whereas I would have 10 more!) so a part of me secretly hopes that the next "baby" might turn out to be "babies" hehe.
Hi again. Feel free to pick my brain as much as you want hun. I hope I will be able to help you.
We were going to sleep the kids together in one cot but the plans changed a bit when we got home lol. I borrowed two bassinets from friends and family and the kids stayed in our room for the first couple of months. So because they were in bassinets they couldn't go in together, but slept next to each other in the room so would have still been able to hear each other. They are almost 19 months and still share a room and I think they would be a little lost without each other. They chat and laugh with each other in the morning when they wake up which is cute.
As far as the waking up in the night, I can remember those days well but I was waking up stressing how I was going to cope As far as twins coming early, yes it is a possibility that could happen but it doesn't always work out like that. My twins were born at 38 weeks and weighed over 6lb each!! They came straight back to the room with us. It is not silly at all to worry about them coming early but try and stay positive that they can stay in there until term, and try and focus on that. I am a big believer in the power of our thoughts.
Keep us updated on your pregnancy. I am looking forward to watching your journey.
Congrats on your twins Lala1971 - how exciting! Sure will be a good little soccer team, you're very good at boys!
I'm a twin myself (fraternal - have a twin brother), and I remember the feeling growing up that I always had a companion with whom to share my life. I think it influenced me right into adulthood when I met my DH... I think it makes sharing your life with someone come very naturally.
Look forward to hearing about your exciting journey & seeing you around BB
